The ceremony brought together students, staff and stakeholders to celebrate and recognise the learners' diligence, discipline and exemplary performance at the close of the first term of the academic calendar. As schools close for the Easter holiday, I also shared a message of care and concern, urging students to uphold good conduct, make wise choices and prioritise their safety, while encouraging parents to continue guiding, supporting and nurturing their children during the break. 215 police officers, who formed the second contingent of the Multinational Security Support (MSS) Mission to Haiti, have safely returned home. The officers were part of our 2023 deployment to support efforts to stabilize Haiti and assist the Haitian National Police in restoring public order in areas affected by insecurity. Their service formed part of Kenya’s broader leadership role in the UN-backed multinational mission aimed at protecting civilians, securing critical infrastructure, and strengthening local security responses. The officers returned to a warm reception led by the Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration, Dr. Raymond Omollo @ray_omollo alongside the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja, National Security Advisor, Ambassador Monica Juma @AmbMonicaJuma, who was recently appointed Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna, and Inspector General Emeritus, Mr. Joseph Boinnet, who joined in recognizing the officers’ distinguished service.

Gabriel Tongoyo, to present the State Department's Supplementary Estimates No. I for the Financial Year 2025/2026. I highlighted key priority programmes and ongoing interventions focused on strengthening national security, improving service delivery and expanding government presence at the grassroots. The proposed additional funding will address critical gaps, support security operations, facilitate national functions and operationalize newly established administrative units across the country.
