Respectfully, @NickJFuentes is right to express concerns about Nostra Aetate, which is certainly not an infallible document. According to Pope Francis, his infamous Document on Human Fraternity (which contains an objectively heretical claim) “does not move one millimetre away from the Second Vatican Council.” While DHF does not actually cite the Council, it clearly shares common ground with Nostra Aetate and Dignitatis Humanae (Declaration on Religious Freedom): catholicfamilynews.com/blog/2023/04/2… As this video clearly demonstrates, there is continuity between Nostra Aetate, the interreligious words and deeds of John Paul II and Benedict XVI, and Francis’s DHF.
E. Michael Jones@EMichaelJones1

Nick Fuentes is out of his depth. x.com/FuentesUpdates… Nostra Aetate is part of the magisterium of the Catholic Church. It does not say that all world religions are salvific, or have a part in salvation. He is undermining the Catholic faith among a group whose understanding of Church teaching is already weak and is causing scandal by pretending to speak with an authority he does not have.

The French bishops are ridiculous. Comments on La Croix's "Will France be the Papal Setting for the End of Restrictions to the Latin Mass?" rorate-caeli.blogspot.com/2026/03/la-cro… 1. No one has ever been able to agree about what exactly we are required to accept from Vatican II. Even the particular innovations of it (such as religious liberty) are understood very differently by different theologians and bishops, with precious little indication of, or conflicting accounts of, the "correct" reading. 2. Concelebration at the Chrism Mass is indeed an issue because an attempt is made to force priests to do something which is not required of them and should not be demanded from those who have made a principled commitment, via their constitutions, to make exclusive use of the traditional rites. But I've got a solution. When all the NOM priests are required to learn to celebrate the TLM, then come back and talk to the TLM priests about having to do the NOM. Since that will never happen, stop trying to force the concelebration issue, making it a Shibboleth. 3. Bishops who say “trads should be made to use the same calendar and lectionary as the NO” obviously have *zero idea* what they are talking about, since the old rite is an integral unity that cannot be chopped apart into modules and options the way the new rite can be. 4. «“Many of these young priests have a great missionary zeal and could help us in our dioceses if they agreed to celebrate in both rites," laments another bishop.» Umm, isn't it the case that those young priests could help RIGHT NOW if the bishops were not so intransigently determined to block the return of the old rite to the parishes? After all, Mass is Mass (or so we've been told); hence, it should present no difficulty to have a priest offer the old rite in any situation where a priest is needed. If that IS a problem, well, then, who is being obstinate here? It would be really nice if some of these French bishops could get off their high horses and humbly ask some of the nice trads in France to give them a crash course in, well, just about everything, so that they would stop sounding like illiterates.

@RossDellenger Colleges need to break away from the NCAA en masse. It’s corrupt, inept and has made a total mess of everything it touches. Enough is enough.

The NCAA won an appeals case today in another eligibility suit. The Ninth Circuit vacated a district court's ruling that granted Nevada baseball player Noah Blythe a 6th year of eligibility. Blythe argued that his JUCO seasons should not count against NCAA eligibility standards.

I’m trying to find any way to understand this being called a strike, and after rewatching it five times, I can confirm that it’s actually impossible:

@CatholicSmark It means that there are no rubrics for the laity for the TLM which leaves them free to pray however the.Spirit leads them.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. We don't need to call the manager. Why I love the TLM. It doesn't give a crap what you are doing. So you can just soak it in and participate in a way best for you, rather than trying to make fetch happen.

I was reading Jean Guitton’s book on Paul VI in which he recorded their conversations. They were close friends. I found this interesting part about Lefebvre. It shows Paul VI’s intention to banish the Latin Mass permanently and how he viewed Lefebvre as a danger to his agenda!

@CoachForGov Absolutely correct. The French and the Spanish conquistadors founded America based on their desire to build Christ's kingdom. They carried with them and coverted thousands upon thousands to the Faith & Church Jesus Christ founded.

As we reflect on the meaning of Easter, we also need to remember that America is a nation founded on Christian values. But those values are under attack. When I’m Governor of Alabama, I will be returning the 10 Commandments to our classrooms. If our kids want to pray or worship at school, they should have the FULL backing of our state.  This Easter, we’ve got a choice. We can keep going down this path or we can get back to the Christian values that have made this country truly GREAT.

@CarriePrejean1 Not really scandalous compared to everything else that goes on. It's just the post conciliar religion that calls itself Catholic and is too afraid to tell them. Dare we hope that all may be saved?

@CTrefugees @FlaviusTdsius Apparently, you have trouble comprehending or addressing my question. Your note that concelebration was "restored," again, whatever that means, does not address my question. False antiquinarianism condemned in Mediator Dei by Pope Pius XII perhaps?

Yes. The FSSP literally exists on the basis of a loyalty oath. The bizarre refusal of their priests in France the to concelebrate with their bishop is senseless and the even more bizarre threat of FSSP seminarians with penalties for celebrating the reformed liturgy is inappropriate and beyond their mission.
Kevin Tierney@CatholicSmark

Forcing the FSSP to concelebrate will have the same effect of a loyalty oath: creating the problem it wants solved If you tell a FSSP priest in good standing and beyond reproach now hes suspect because of his order, what do you think the likely reaction is? All for what?

@CTrefugees @FlaviusTdsius How many priests does it take to offer one Mass? How was this done from 33 AD to 1970? Did the Apoatles "concelebate" whatever that means, with Jesus Christ?

Union with the Bishop is prior to liturgical preference, and the FSSP is only where it is at the invitation and leave of his bishops of whom he is representative and son. Unless you mean why is it bizarre that the FSSP would threaten penalties to seminarians who celebrate under the reformed rite. That's not in line with their mission which cannot treat the reformed liturgy as an offense and is backsliding.

The conduct they are claiming is detrimental is Christianity. They fired Jaden Ivey for being Christian. Worth noting the Bulls didn’t fire Ronnie Brewer after he was arrested for DUI. Or Joakim Noah after he was arrested for possession of drugs. When Jameson Curry was arrested for public urination and then resisted arrest, the Bulls suspended him for one game, but also refused to fire him for his conduct. Christianity is apparently where the Chicago Bulls draw the line.

I have instructed the relevant authorities that Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin Patriarch, be granted full and immediate access to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. Over the past several days, Iran has repeatedly targeted the holy sites of all three monotheistic religions in Jerusalem with ballistic missiles. In one strike, missile fragments crashed meters from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. To protect worshippers, Israel asked members of all faiths to temporarily abstain from worshipping at the Christian, Muslim and Jewish holy sites in Jerusalem’s Old City. Today, out of special concern for his safety, Cardinal Pizzaballa was asked to refrain from holding mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Even though I understand this concern, as soon as I learned about the incident with Cardinal Pizzaballa, I instructed the authorities to enable the Patriarch to hold services as he wishes.

My statement re Prohibiting the Latin Patriarch of entering Church of Holy Sepulcher on Palm Sunday: While all Holy sites in the Old City are closed due to safety concerns for mass gatherings including the Western Wall, Church of the Holy Sepulcher and Al Aqsa Mosque, the action today by the Israel Nat'l Police to deny Latin Patriarch Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa and 3 other priests from entering the Church to offer a blessing on Palm Sunday is an unfortunate overreach already having major repercussions around the world.  Home Front Command Guidelines restrict any gatherings to 50 people or less.  The 4 representatives of the Catholic Church were well below that restriction.  Statements from the Gov't of Israel indicate the action to prohibit Cardinal Pizzaballa entry to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher were for safety reasons, but churches, synagogues, and mosques throughout Jerusalem have met with the restrictions of 50 or less.  For the Patriarch to be barred from entry to the Church on Palm Sunday for a private ceremony is difficult to understand or justify. Israel has indicated it will work with the Patriarch to accommodate a safe means of carrying out Holy Week activities.

🚨For the first time in centuries, Christians were blocked by the Israeli government from celebrating Palm Sunday at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa was prevented from entering Church by Israel Police. The very place where Christ died and rose. This is the deliberate denial of Christian worship. Allies don’t do this…enemies do. That is religious discrimination. That is a violation of religious freedom. And the silence is deafening. Silence in the face of this is complicity. The world should be outraged. Speak now… for Christians in occupied Palestine ✝️

To their great credit, the US Catholic Bishops and prominent Catholic lay leaders are pushing back forcefully against those who want to spread hostility to Jews and Judaism in the Catholic community. They are standing up for the teachings of the Second Vatican Council, the modern popes, and the Catholic Catechism on the brotherhood of Jews and Christians and the sinfulness of antisemitism. A fine article on this in The Jewish Chronicle. thejc.com/opinion/analys…
