Pleased to participate as part of the State of Qatar’s delegation at the International Contact Group for the Great Lakes (ICG) meeting in Stockholm, chaired by the Kingdom of Sweden, with broad international participation from officials, diplomats, and experts. The discussions focused on ongoing mediation and peace efforts in the Great Lakes region, the latest developments in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, humanitarian assistance, protection of civilians, and the importance of international coordination to support stability and sustainable political solutions. The State of Qatar continues its commitment to supporting dialogue, mediation, conflict resolution, and humanitarian efforts, while working closely with regional and international partners to promote peace, stability, and development. I also extend my appreciation to Sweden for the hosting, excellent organization, and its role in chairing the International Contact Group and supporting international dialogue and coordination on peace and stability issues in the region @Dr_Al_Khulaifi @MariaStenergard @MikaelLindvall @SweMFA @MofaQatar_EN @FBAFolke

A new route takes off ✈️ Today, the @WFP‑managed EU Humanitarian Aid Flight 🇪🇺 operated its first Bunia 🇨🇩 → Entebbe 🇺🇬 route. This helps humanitarian workers stay on the move and reach those who need support most. #UNHAS #EUHAF @eu_echo

All of us at UNICEF are devastated and outraged by the killing of our colleague Karine Buisset in a reported drone attack in Goma, DRC. My immediate thoughts are with the family, loved ones & colleagues across UNICEF. Civilians, including aid workers, must never be targeted.
