@SenJohnKennedy If there's a deficit, they shouldn't be paid.
English

If senators are going to vote to shut down the government and prevent millions of federal workers from getting paid, they ought to have the same skin in the game.
My resolution passed the Senate today to ensure they do.
That's common sense.

@SenAshleyMoody @SenJohnKennedy The millionaires in congress won't feel a thing. Instead, make it so government employees who are required to work during a shutdown (like TSA) still get paychecks.
English

It’s astounding that Democrats can hold our government in a shutdown—forcing thousands to go without pay—while still collecting a check themselves.
NOT ANYMORE—Mine and @SenJohnKennedy resolution to suspend senators’ pay during a shutdown has achieved final passage.

@DerrickEvans4WV There are real issues with data centers. We don't need made-up claims making us look like conspiracy theorists.
English

@MarindaVannoy1 In most cases the only other option is a democrat, which is worse.
English

@RepChipRoy @RepScottPerry @BottomLineFBN Sorry, Chip. If you're falling down drunk, you can't drive.
English

Rep. Roy: "I don't want to put government surveillance in my car any more than I want corn in my car!" @RepScottPerry @BottomLineFBN
English

@DerrickEvans4WV What you do in public is public information. Always has been.
English

@SenJohnKennedy Congressional salaries are nothing compared to the millions they make on the side. You would have to control those other income streams to get their attention.
English

@EricLDaugh It doesn't matter who the parliamentarian is, you still have to follow the rules. PS: the parlianentarian doesn't make the senate rules, the senators do.
English

🚨 JUST IN: The unelected SENATE PARLIAMENTARIAN has STRUCK DOWN major provisions of the GOP's ICE-CBP reconciliation funding bill
This is RIDICULOUS!
The parliamentarian has been a HUGE roadblock, even playing games with the Big Beautiful Bill last year
Thune should've removed her a LONG time ago.
Now, Republicans have to go back and fix:
- CBP sections
- Border security, tech and screening funds
- Some $2.5B relating to Homeland Security Appropriations
And then wait for her "green light" so it can pass with 50+1 votes.
English

@RepEricBurlison @NewstalkSTL The law does not give the government or anyone else the ability to "brick your car" or even stop you from driving remotely.
But the car will stop someone who is falling down drunk from killing you.
English

Americans already distrust Washington, so naturally the next step is giving it the power to brick your car.
Nothing says 'free country' quite like asking the government for continued access to your own ignition.
Kill The Kill Switch.

@Not_the_Bee The majority wins again. Gotta love America!

@ksorbs Odds are the database has errors, and votes are secret. Stop spreading garbage.
English

@SenJohnKennedy Just make it so anyone required to work (like TSA) still gets paid.

@EIwatchdogs The Save Act should have followed the successful example of the ~half the states that have voter ID laws. Tell Mike Lee to FIX THE SAVE ACT.
English

Looks like West Virginia survived their new voter ID law just fine.
No mass chaos.
No collapse of democracy.
In fact, officials reported “very few glitches” during the first primary election under the new photo ID requirement. Imagine that.
Turns out asking people to prove they are who they say they are at the ballot box works pretty much the same way it does for airplanes, banks, prescriptions, jobs, and basically every normal part of adult life.
The real shock is that some politicians still act like election security is an unreasonable burden.

@glennbeck It takes a special kind of man to start with an 85/15 issue, and write a bill so bad it can't even get 50 votes in the Senate. Tell Mike Lee to FIX THE SAVE ACT so it can be enacted. He knows what he needs to do.
English

John Thune is a giant wiener. He just said that he doesn’t have the votes to end the filibuster.
WHOSE FAULT IS THAT, JOHN???
80% of Americans - Republicans and Democrats - want voter ID. And Thune is just standing there, bragging about getting the Democrats "on record" without actually passing anything.
Well, at least now HE'S on record. As a giant wiener. No one should ever vote for this guy again.
Pass The SAVE America Act NOW.
English

@JonathanTurley Which trial? He has multiple convictions
English

@BasedMikeLee Instead of telling up powerless peons, talk to someone in government, maybe a senator, who could write a clean voter ID bill that can pass. Heck, you'd have to be an idiot to turn an 85/15 issue into a bill so bad it couldn't pass the senate!
English

@Renatta @SenateGOP @SenJohnKennedy They dont even have 50 votes for the Save Act. It's not happening until & unless Mike Lee makes some changes to it.
English

@SenateGOP @SenJohnKennedy Why aren’t y’all going to pass the SAVE Act?
English

This week, Republicans will vote for @SenJohnKennedy’s bill to withhold pay from senators during a government shutdown.
Senate Democrats shouldn’t collect paychecks while they force Americans to suffer.
English

@SenateGOP @SenJohnKennedy Everyone knows their government salary isn't how they make millions while in office. If you want them to notice, you'll have to garnishe all those other income streams.
English

@SpeakerJohnson Change the Save Act into a clean voter ID bill, and it will pass. That's what the people want. The government can do its own job of verifying citizenship, if you like.
English

Even 70% of Democrats say that you ought to have a photo ID to vote.
The House has passed the SAVE America Act THREE times already to do exactly that— and make our elections more secure. The American people want it, but Democrats in Congress refuse to concede their opposition.
WE will never stop fighting for election integrity, and we’re willing to FUND voter ID it for states that contend it is too costly.
English

@SenRickScott Why is Senator Rick Scott complaining to us peons about how much congress overspends?
