Cheat through the degree. Get 3 years of work authorization through OPT. Then convert to H-1B. The entire pipeline, from the classroom to the job market is built on a fraudulent foundation. How much does it pay? Genuinely asking. My experience from the US (where I grew up) is people pound the table about skills shortages and when you ask what they’re paying, it’s equivalent to working at Walmart in a no-skill job.

I recently read a sub stack article about a fancy yacht club. The rich 80 year old members can paint/sail their boats, younger members have a checkbook experience.

When the new minimum wage law was being discussed they asked state to make exclusions for kids and tipped employees. State said no. Now no kids have jobs. I had 22yo’s freshly out of college with zero work experience and worthless degrees applying to be dishwashers. Laughed like “bro this is a hard ass job, zero chance you’re gonna make it without ever having worked” Was undefeated playing that game. Dudes would last like 2 nights lol. Really hurting kids by coddling them.

Minimum wage is too high. So ya. 17yo chicks at the frozen yogurt place by my house just sit there. You pour and scoop your own stuff, put on the scale. They push a button, then you swipe your own card. Grab your own lid and spoon. Leave. They make the minimum wage of $17/hr + tips. Crazy. We need to get rid of minimum wage asap.

United Kingdom: Deng Chol Majek, an African immigrant from Sudan, stalks Rhiannon Whyte, a 27-year-old English woman. Spoke to a friend today, he’s been renting a place for 8 years, paying $1,125/mo. Landlord emailed him tells him he wants $1,725/mo and if he doesn’t like it he can move out. I told him to email the landlord back and tell him to check the rules.

@greenshame US multinationals are paying 24 billion a year on income that has nothing to do with Ireland. Instead of investing in Irish companies / infrastructure this money is being pissed away on welfare to foreigners.

It will only worsen if more people, especially young people, leave.
