Well-designed performance-based pay doesn't (and shouldn't) hinge solely on test scores. Many real-world systems incorporate broader metrics like classroom observations, student/parent surveys, teacher collaboration, and professional growth. NC needs to compete on total package—competitive (but smartly structured) pay + real improvements in working conditions and accountability. Performance incentives aligned with actual teaching effectiveness could help draw and keep higher-caliber people who are currently going elsewhere or leaving the field.

Are we really doing this again? Of course we are. Under the first amendment, the White House may not pressure ABC to fire a comedian because of his jokes. A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. That’s when Maher dropped the hammer and told him straight up that no, somebody’s doing something to that little girl. Cross immediately got defensive, but Maher refused to back down. He told Cross that believing a 9-year-old girl is deciding to be trans on her own is exactly the kind of liberal insanity that lost Kamala Harris the election in 2024. And if Democrats keep it up, JD Vance is going to win in 2028. By the end of this exchange, Cross is left sitting there looking like a deer in headlights, like he’s never been challenged on “trans kids” in his life.
