Yesterday I had the very sad duty to attend the funeral of Jeyesh Ram, 27 year old son of my dear friend Cibi Anand and Priya. He lost his life in a para-gliding accident in Kulu, Himachal Pradesh last Friday. Way too many accidents happen with sickening regulatory there and I am deeply saddened Jeyesh became the latest statistic. Much stronger regulatory oversight required here. We had invested in Jeyesh's venture Tools Hub, a fast growing hardware retail store franchise. His father Anand suggested the name Karuvi and it was Tools Hub distributor Abdul Gafoor, a long time Zoho customer and good friend of Anand who suggested the idea of Karuvi to us. Jeyesh was a dashing young man, very kind to his employees and all those around him. He had the world ahead of him. He was a risk taker. So am I but even at his age I would do a risk analysis and would have declined para-gliding in Kulu as too accident prone. I hope young people, particularly young men, avoid bad risks like this. I hope his death does not go in vain and regulators take a good look at this. All of us came together to bid tearful farewell to Jeyesh yesterday. Om Shanti 🙏

My wife and I made the decision of moving back to India from the US after completing our higher education. We decided to dedicate our lives to building & researching technologies out of India for the world. We recently completed 1 year of our stay here. To all the Indian 20-40 year olds who are contemplating their move back to India but are filled with uncertainties, this is an honest compilation of 10 differences we observed after our move back here! Disclaimer: completely personal & biased views. might not apply to everyone.

Life Update: My wife, @Rishita38770190 , and I have decided to move back to India, after a wonderful few years in the US. 🇮🇳 🚀 To build a cross-border platform that is attempting to bring the Eastern and Western worlds closer with talent & technology, there could be nothing better than being in my home country India. While I will be in India, I will keep shuttling between the US and India to meet our customers. Rishita will be starting her own lab as a tenure-track assistant professor at the @iiscbangalore in the Department of Aerospace Engineering. Having completed her Ph.D. at @TAMU and Post-doctoral research at @nyuniversity , she will continue to maintain a close collaboration with her academic circles in the US. 🤝 We intend to dedicate the next few years of our life to building and researching technologies for the world from India. 👨‍💻 👩‍💻 Excited to finally work from the office, for the first time since March 2020 (before Covid). Bengaluru, please be good. 🙏

I am extremely overwhelmed by the support and wishes that have been coming in. Winning 2 bronze medals is a dream come true. This achievement is not just mine but belongs to everyone who has believed in me and supported me along the way. I couldn't have done it without the unwavering support of my family, Coach Jaspal Rana sir and everyone who stood by me, including the NRAI , TOPS , SAI, OGQ, Performax & especially Haryana government. With all my well-wishers. Competing and performing at the biggest stage for my country is a moment of immense pride and joy. Thank you all for being a part of this incredible journey and for standing by me through every step. Your encouragement means the world to me! A bittersweet end to my campaign in Paris but happy to contribute to #TeamINDIA's success. Jai Hind! 🇮🇳❤️

This young doctor definitely saved the life of this gentleman. T2 Delhi Airport. Such a perseverance in doing CPR is needed. Congratulations doctor! I am offering her ₹20k from the Pulse Heart Charitable Trust. Anyone who know her please inform her. Some observations: 1. Someone else should take over the CPR after three to four minutes. Doing CPR can be extremely arduous. 2. Don’t put anything in the mouth of the patient when he is not completely awake. Not even sublingual sorbitrate. He may aspirate the tablet in to the lungs. The sorbitrate may reduce the blood pressure. 3. Small interruptions in CPR to try and wake the patient up should be avoided. Pause should only be taken to assess the pulse and breathing for an extremely brief period. #CPR #heartattack #greatdoctor

My father Shri Sambamurthy Vembu passed away today. He was 81 and was ailing for some time. He had strong will power, fought till the very end but the body didn't cooperate. He was the role model for all of us siblings and his grandchildren, leading a very simple life. That example will always be with us. In accordance with his wishes, we will perform his last rites in our ancestral village of Olugachery in Tanjavur district, tomorrow. If you want to remember him, please perform annadhanam in his memory 🙏 Om Shanti🙏

HORROR STORY 🚨🚨🚨 with #AirIndia business class flight from New Delhi - Newark (AI 105) After flying with Emirates for a few years, I recently moved to Air India as they offer direct flights to NY, Chicago & London which are my frequent travel destinations Yesterday’s flight was no less than a nightmare.. Booked business class (office trip) - The seats were not clean, worn off & of the 35 atleast 5 seats were not functional - 25 mins delayed take off - After settling for 30 mins post take off, I wanted to get to sleep (3.30 AM) and realised that my seat doesn’t go to a FLAT BED, reason it’s not working …. - Requested the crew and after 10 mins of trying, they moved me to another seat which worked - Woke up after a few hours, the food was served and it was uncooked (never faced this in AI), the fruits were stale (everyone onboard returned back) - TV/Screen never worked. Not that I would have watched, just tried and it showed ‘Not Found’ error - After all this, final nail in the coffin is THEY BROKE MY LUGGAGE 🙏 BAD FOOD, WORN OUT 💺, DIRTY SEAT COVERS, NON WORKING TV for Rs.500000 (round trip), Damaged my luggage I had Etihad at cheaper price, but chose AI as it offers a direct flight service. #Travel #AirIndia

I have always preferred @emirates since last 16 years over any other airline, reason is their customer centric focus Today due to a technical fault at Delhi flight was delayed by 2 hours Due to delay missed my connecting flight. There were 80 other pax who too missed 1/2

Governments across the world emphasise and try to focus on capital expenditure to build quality infrastructure and assets. Quality Infrastructure brings comfort, convenience and ‘ease of living’ to every citizen. Every km of road, every railway track, and every bridge built paves the way for a brighter and more prosperous future for all. @INCIndia-led UPA (2004-14) wasted India's economic growth potential and left it among the ‘Fragile Five’ economies without focusing on effective infrastructure development. Under UPA, almost all aspects of India’s economic needs were mismanaged or ignored. @INCIndia-led UPA Govt’s noticeable and deliberate neglect of infrastructure creation not only denied India much-needed roads, railways, power, etc., but it also compromised India’s long-term economic potential. A more glaring outcome of this neglect was the development of border roads and defence capital expenditure, which left India vulnerable to external threats. Then Defence Minister AK Antony remarked in 2013, “An undeveloped border is safer than a developed border.” In contrast, Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi firmly believes that the village on the border is not India’s last village; it is country's first village. Through the ‘Vibrant Villages Programme’, we are developing the border villages and strengthening their infrastructure. The UPA government's term was replete with examples of decision stasis. Cost overruns, stalled projects and lack of timely approvals were common between 2004-14. - The Cabinet Secretary noted in 2013: "Many large projects both in the public sector as well as the private sector, especially in infrastructure and manufacturing sectors, have been held up for investment on account of delays in obtaining various approvals/clearances." - IMF working paper (March 2014) highlighted 3 main reasons for the investment slowdown in India: Policy uncertainty, Delayed project approvals, implementation and supply bottlenecks. - The CAG Report 2014 : Railway Board took an average of 43 months to sanction rehabilitation of bridgeworks, and they were completed with an average delay of 41 months. PM Modi’s active role has made the infrastructure turnaround possible. PM has personally monitored the progress of projects, even those launched earlier, through the PRAGATI platform. This led to the successful completion of long-delayed projects. Through 43 PRAGATI meetings, PM Modi has reviewed projects worth Rs 17.36 lakh crore. Spending on infrastructure not only boosts GDP growth through its multiplier effects on consumption and investment but also improves the long-term efficiency of the economy by reducing logistical constraints. A NIPFP study points out that every Rupee directed towards capital expenditure in India increases economic output by ₹4.8. Share of Capex in total expenditure dropped sharply under the UPA. From 23% in 2003-04, it dropped quickly to an avg of 12% from 2005-2014. Imagine the opportunity cost lost due to @INCIndia not investing adequately in capital expenditure. Our government significantly increased the outlay for capex. As a proportion of total expenditure, Capex rose to over 21% in 2023-24, compared to just 12% in 2013-14. Since 2014, our govt has allocated a total of ₹43.53 lakh crore in Gross Budgetary Support (GBS) capital expenditure, an increase of 3.72 times compared to 2004-14. (1/3)
