The most incredible startup culture I've seen is Legora in their Stockholm office. 9PM on a Wednesday, there are hundreds of people still there - jovial, happy, and tirelessly working. It was so loud you would think there's a party going on. Any other cos doing it like this?

@pierceboggan @midudev Does this use the same diff editor as copilot did originally or different? Every update terrifies me that you’ve gotten rid of the list of altered files above the input box. That’s the best feature. Especially since it works without git.

@PaulAnleitner The modern atheist thing at the end of the Green Knight was so weird — “Is this all there is? / What else ought there to be?” — my dude, you are saying this to an animated tree man conjured by a witch, you obviously have no idea what “this” even is.

The challenge with Nolan for The Odyssey wasn’t solved by “Troy” back in the mid-2000s. The problem is much deeper, and The Green Knight (2021) showed us why. The modern mind just doesn’t comprehend the true nature of “myth.” If you divide “material” and “spiritual,” you’ll miss it. If you try to make the story fit modern notions of “history” bound by scientism, you’ll miss it. If you ask “what’s ‘real’ here and what’s symbolic?” you’ll miss it. The Green Knight actually does a good job of making you feel how disorienting real myths are to the modern mind. But it’s hard to portray myth and make it a box office success.

Jordan Peterson’s role in changing the public conversation about religion is undeniable. The point he made here (2018) was arguably his most important. What sits atop the hierarchy of your values is your “God.” In this way, everyone is religious.

Bubblesort is famously, or infamously, the "never use this" algorithm. Donald Knuth even said it has "nothing to recommend it, except a catchy name." But there is actually a niche where it does well - game development (source linked). What makes bubblesort interesting - each step is fast and easily suspendable, and every swap leaves the array more ordered than before. Other sorts can temporarily move values away from their final positions. This matters when we render objects in a game. We want to render objects closest to the camera first (so we can skip rendering hidden objects), but we also cannot spend too much time sorting because we have strict real-time constraints. With bubblesort, we run a little bit each frame. The array gets progressively more ordered without ever blocking our game loop. It does not need to be perfectly sorted - just "better than before" is good enough. This also comes in handy while animating particles sorting into a rainbow (refer to the source for details). Each bubble sort pass becomes a single animation frame, and particles smoothly drift into place. Pretty interesting. We probably never need it, but it is always a nice reminder that "universal" rules always have their exceptions. If you are interested in digging deeper, I have linked the source article below. Give it a read.

@Ramez05 @brutalace_mods I’m not positive but I think by “something wrong” he’s implying the scores are inflated because of something devious like reviewers being paid or wined and dined or something. I could be wrong. But I agree, interactive movie isn’t my jam but if ppl connect with it, good on them

The level of hate Mixtape is getting for it's critic reviews is pretty unprecedented for how harmless the game actually is its not actually "woke" or DEI in any way and no agendas are being pushed. just teenage and music nerd cringe for people who are nostalgic for those time. it quite literally not a game made for everyone and if you didn't connect with it that's ok! but do we really need to hear how much you dislike it whenever someone says they enjoy it? that's the real cringe tbh
