no shade but why would i literally ever buy a home… you still have to pay a mortgage monthly that would be the same cost as just paying rent atp. and at least with renting, the expenses for anything that goes wrong falls into the landlord instead of on you

We all know this hasn’t helped, but his big spending & budget mismanagement is the real problem. He’s going to have to face the music & some hard truths sometime. Inflation has hit 4.6% — the highest since September 2023 when Australia was recovering from COVID-19. There is already talk that the RBA will raise interest rates again. Labor blames "international wars" and the fastest oil price rise in history, yet we know where the blame sits. Had successive governments done their duty, we would be an independent, sovereign nation immune to global shocks. We don't want to hear excuses; we want our productive capacity restored and we want Australians prioritised first!

In 2018 a Queensland businessman approached me with plans to build a diesel refinery in Gladstone. When seeking finance, he told me Australian banks would not even let him open a bank account because he was involved in fossil fuels. The reality of this net zero agenda is that the global ambition come before everything else, even our own fuel and national security. But the banks now have a chance to rectify their past mistakes. The Queensland businessman has resurrected the project. Let's see if they will dump their net zero obsession and finally put our country first. More in the CQToday this week.
