For those of you who don’t know much about options, for what it’s worth I can confirm that this is real, legit and is a good way to make money while possibly getting stock. Here are import caveats 1. Make sure you are selling (not buying) the puts (not calls) the correct strike/ expiration, making it a limit order (not market). These are easy to click on the wrong items even for an experienced trader let alone a beginner. 2. If done correctly, this will make you money and will also guarantee you will not buy (get assigned) the stock higher than $135 BUT it might yield that you make money and not get the stock. What you could do is continue to make money selling more after this expiration, but then either you are selling the same strike which will make you less money or you are chasing the stock up with higher strikes, in which case you might end of with stock at an overall lower than $135/share after factoring in the money you made along the way, but you need to keep track of these things. Bottom line of this point is that you need to be good with possibly not owning the stock. 3. Make sure you understand that one contact is 100 shares therefore you will need to cover $13,500 PER CONTRACT that you sell (minus the premium you bring in). If you dont have the money and your broker allows your account to go into margin then you might have a bit of a problem on your hands, especially on a sinking stock. 4. If you dont understand the OPs post and/ or you don’t understand this post Grok will be able to help you further, but maybe options trading isn’t for you until you have a better grasp of the mechanics. Looks like Verizon has scammers in their company. My wife just called Verizon (the number listed on their website) to get a new phone line, and the guy who answered that's supposed to transfer you to the correct department actually transferred her to some random lady who, when answered, just said "hi". My wife say's "hi" back. Random lady: "who is this?" (on a sales call, btw). My wife: "who is this?" (since it sounded suspicious). Random lady in broken English: "Uhh... oh, this is Tasha with your phone company... what do you need?" (she didn't specify which phone company). My wife: "I'm calling to get a new line." Random lady: "Have you been on any trips recently?" My wife: ??? *hangs up* Then my wife calls the same Verizon number again from their website, gets on the phone with a different person who saw the record of my wife calling but it doesn't show that she was transferred at all. So it appears some scammer got a job at Verizon and instead of transferring customers to a different department, he transfers them to his scammer friend. This is super sketchy. I bet a lot of folks have fallen for this scam, unfortunately. Verizon needs to vet their people better.
