Bently in was last seen on Sunday, March 29th, 2026, at 2:40 p.m. in the 2200 block of California Street in Mountain View.  Bently is 16-year-old male, approximately 5-9" and weighing 227 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white or grey color t-shirt, black shorts and black sandals. This afternoon, just after 3:00pm, firefighters were dispatched to Bean Hollow Beach near Pescadero for reports of a person in the water. A woman says she and her husband were wearing waders and were fishing on the rocks. She went to their car for something and when she came back, he was gone. A bystander saw a body in the water and firefighters pulled the man out of the water and attempted life-saving measures. CAL FIRE, San Mateo County Fire, Coastside Fire, Pillar Point Harbor Patrol, CA State Parks, US Coast Guard, AMR and San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office responded. CA State Parks has taken over the investigation. @sanmateoco

CLIFF RESCUE: Firefighter's Labour-dor of love Today, CAL FIRE, Coastside Fire firefighters answered a precarious call at Ross Cove, just north of the Pillar Point Radar Tower. There, Battalion Chief David Hibdon found a yellow lab named Loui in a tight spot—perched precariously on a ledge, a good 25 feet down a sheer cliff face. A rope rescue system was swiftly deployed, with one of our many brave rescuers descending to reach the stranded pup. Fire Apparatus Engineer Cory Souza skillfully secured Loui, and together they were safely lowered to the beach. Loui was then happily reunited with his grateful human. While we love seeing our canine companions enjoy the beautiful coast, it's important to remember a few things to keep everyone safe and our environment thriving: • Dogs are required to be on a leash on the cliffs in this area. • This particular beach is a "no-dog zone." The precious marine reserve and its harbor seal rookery need to be protected. Let's give our local wildlife their space to thrive and keep this a pristine "pup-free" paradise. By following these guidelines, we can ensure that our stunning coastline remains a fetching and safe place for everyone – two-legged and four-legged alike (from a distance!). @sanmateoco @SMCParks

Trump supporter yesterday told me he had no problem sending American citizens who are violent criminals to that El Salvador jail. I started in on the law & the Constitution, but he didn’t care. He just loved the idea of that El Salvador jail. Tho not surprising, the conversation really bummed me out.

@roddreher It’s fun to see hysteria about massive price increases already hurting people - before they take effect. Tariffs are a sales tax. They do not raise importers’ production costs, so there is no need for importers to raise prices. Raising prices on top of tariffs would be suicidal.

Just talked to a small business friend in the US. Trump voter. Today she's cursing the administration. Wholesale prices for the products she sells are up 50%, w/no end in sight. She sells product that ppl can do without. She's looking at her entire business going belly up, soon.
