Parents must have the final say over their own children. Period.
A 13-year-old does not have the capacity to understand the permanent damage they are doing to their bodies for the rest of their adult life. Yet under current law in British Columbia, that child can be placed on testosterone and sterilized without their parents’ consent or even their knowledge.
I have heard heartbreaking stories from families in this province, including a father who was powerless to stop his 13-year-old daughter from undergoing irreversible medical transition. The doctor and the system told him he could only be a “friend and adviser,” while his daughter was sterilized.
This is wrong. Schools must not secretly change a child’s name or identity behind parents’ backs. Medical decisions of this magnitude must never be made without parents at the table.
As Premier, I will introduce strong parental rights legislation so that no 13-year-old is left to make life-altering decisions they cannot possibly understand, and no parent is ever silenced again.

🥩 Same cow. Same cut.
Different country. 2× the price.
🇦🇺 Australia ships steak across the planet for $24/kg.
🇨🇦 Canada can’t move it across a province for under $52/kg.
This isn’t climate.
This isn’t transport.
This is policy + supply management + cartel pricing.🙄
When food is cheaper from 14,000 km away, the problem isn’t farmers .
it’s the system. 🇨🇦

@FoodProfessor Not a good deal for Alberta. Now Sask will be expected to follow

Ottawa and Alberta have reached a deal on industrial carbon pricing. This is good news for the agri-food sector.
An industrial carbon tax affects fertilizer, transportation, cold storage, packaging, processing, and distribution. These costs don’t disappear. They move through the supply chain and eventually reach consumers at the grocery store.
A slower path to higher carbon pricing will reduce immediate inflationary pressure, but the agri-food sector will still face rising operational costs over time. Food inflation is never just about retail. Energy policy matters too.

Carney is moving ahead on a new pipeline to get Canadian oil to global markets, something Alberta has been demanding for years.
And yet, Alberta is STILL complaining.
First it was “we need pipelines.” Now it’s “not this one,” “not fast enough,” or “not good enough.”
At some point it stops being about pipelines and starts looking like a province that just wants to be perpetually mad no matter what happens.

NYP Reporter: Prior to boarding Air Force One to depart Beijing, the entire U.S. delegation disposed of every item provided to them by their Chinese hosts. Gifts, badges, pins, and commemorative items were all dumped into a trash bin on site. The directive was absolute, no item of Chinese origin was permitted to board the aircraft. The precautions extended beyond the departure itself. Delegation members had left all personal electronic devices at home before traveling to China and operated exclusively on clean burner phones throughout the duration of the trip.

Great news Alberta!
A critical milestone has been reached under the Canada-Alberta energy agreement (MOU) so that our province can expect approval from the Federal Major Projects Office for actual construction of the West Coast Pipeline on or before September 1, 2027.
When achieved, this would be the fastest approval of a major oil pipeline from Alberta in a generation!
This project will deliver 1,000,000 new barrels of Alberta oil every single day to new Asian markets, creating jobs, strengthening our economy, and generating a phenomenal amount of wealth for Albertans and Canadians for decades to come.
And just as importantly, Alberta has successfully fought to permanently end Justin Trudeau’s punitive oil and gas production cap and roll back his absurdly high industrial carbon price to a much more realistic level that will save our job creators over $250 billion and protect the livelihoods of Alberta workers.
This is what happens when Alberta stands strong.

@MarkJCarney Liberals are doing their best to make this a more uncertain world

Canada and Europe are united in our values of pluralism, the rule of law, and democracy. On Europe Day, we’re building on that foundation to forge new strategic partnerships, deepen our trade, and stand steadfast with Ukraine.
In a more uncertain world, Canada and Europe are creating greater certainty, security, and prosperity on both sides of the Atlantic.
