@KMcCormick2016 @brahmresnik It ends federal funding with Title I, which project 2025 adamantly wants to do. This is a HUGE funding source for districts with large percentages of students in poverty. This funding supports classes that target deficits, tutoring, adult assistants in freshmen classes, and more.

@brahmresnik Abolishing the Department of Education doesn't end state funding. Cut out all the worthless spending at the federal level and send all the money to the states. That would increase funding.

@Danger_Dad_E3 @EmmaScott That is a lie. I am a HS teacher who has helped develop curriculum for our local district AND who runs our local Title I department. The federal DOE has nothing to do with curriculum. States set the state standards, and districts develop their individual curriculum to meet them.

@BridgetAugust1 @EmmaScott :^/ Do not lie to yourself that Federal money does not come with Federal strings. The Federal DOE sets the curriculum. That was the point. Homogenizing education was to produce a generation of Edisons and Einsteins. Today, we've a generation who've scarcely heard of either.

If you support eliminating the Department of Education, you do not support our students. Period. @USEDgov provides funding for: ✅Students w/ disabilities ✅Rural students ✅Programs that make college affordable This would be bad for students, and bad for America.

@Danger_Dad_E3 @EmmaScott Curriculum has always been controlled by the state DOE. The federal DOE funds Title I and Title IX, providing protections and funds for low-income students and for females. Each state develops their own standards for every subject at every grade level.

Trump has now reaffirmed his plan to eliminate the U.S. Department of Education. For the record that department funds, among other things, all the special education and special needs program in public schools and public colleges in all 50 states.

If media had covered Trump’s plans to end entire government agencies, purge universities, deport Dreamers, and fund the government entirely by tariffs like they covered Biden’s debate performance, we wouldn’t be in this mess.
