Bitcoin’s security is a shared responsibility. Today we are launching the Bitcoin Security Consortium, backed by $15 million in commitments to support the developers and researchers strengthening Bitcoin for the decades ahead. strategy.com/press/leading-…

Hammond of Texas | BIP-110🌽
In the single theoretical universe out of 21M where BIP110 fails. Bitcoin centralizes quickly. As a result many realize the plebs were right. A new movement to put nodes back in charge begins, more support, rinse & repeat until we win. If need be, this is a generations long war.

I'm watching this and it is just so crazy. Stephan asks a question ("was the change of policy arrogance or a reasonable update?") Nifty goes first and spends her entire time in teacher mode (bless her heart), and doesn't even attempt to answer the question. Peter interrupts and tells a story about how he was paid a few thousand dollars by Christopher Allen to submit the initial OP_RETURN PR that was closed and later merged into Libre Relay (also doesn't attempt to answer the question). Knut gets a turn and also gives some history, and describes how he feels it's unreasonable - Stephan interrupts and asks if he's addressing the question - BUT NOW TOTALLY IMAGINES A FAKE NEW QUESTION that was never even asked - 06:53 "Are you addressing the point about what you want it to be vs. what people are doing tho?" WUT?!?! Now Knut has to go off and answer two questions and at 07:31 - 08:21 he directly addresses the question and basically says it's an unreasonable change because it's not at all in line with what Bitcoin is. Stephan interrupts again (after trying about 5 times, finally busts through) and asks his second fake question again "Can you please just address the part about what you want bitcoin to be and what people are actually doing?" at about 9 minutes in @r0ckstardev comes in and actually answers the question head on. "Arrogance is too strong a word, but it's very unfortunate. Seeing the mess of the OP_RETURN roll out was one of the worst technical rollouts I've seen in my career, and honestly it's embarrassing" Definitely say you should watch 08:45 - 10:51 Now Stephan drops the first "Virtue signal" comment 😂🤣😂 "Can we please address the reality vs. the virtue signal?" LMAO what kind of moderator takes sides like that!?!?!?! Then he hands the mic to Peter without letting Rockstar/Knut even reply Come the FK on now man! Peter now takes his turn to say Bitcoin is not only money but for publishing a lot of arbitrary data. now Stephan fully joins one side and says 13:10 - "I think we need to address this, because people will attempt to explain the reality of bitcoin scripting and the segwit discount, and WE'LL get a virtue signal of "Bitcoin is Money" yeah everyone agrees about that, but here's the thing, the supposed answer that people are proposing, for example, BIP 110 will not meaningfully reduce the cost to spam the chain. That's just the technical reality. if you {he goes on for a LONG ASS TIME, not moderating, giving an answer to a question no one asked yet (but he will)}." he ends with, 14:10 " So, is it a virtue signal? Should the community be driving this contentious consensus change at developer cost, ecosystem coordination cost, to only increase the cost by 0.4%? Okay this is long enough, I'm going to watch the rest now.

I’ve been a passive #Bitcoin hodler for too long. dca’ing into cold storage while watching from the sideline. I’ve chosen to activate a node and run BIP-110 #BIP110 I’m a pleb with very little technical expertise. I asked AI to walk me thru step-by-step how to setup an @umbrel node and install knots. This feels existential. HODLing is no longer adequate participation in $BTC

I've decided to step down as CEO of Twenty One. This wasn't an easy decision, but it was the right one. This experience brought tremendous clarity about who I am and what I want to build. My life's work remains Bitcoin. My Bitcoin company is @Strike. The work continues.

Feels like you haven't been listening or understanding the debate, or maybe you're captured too. This isn't difficult: BIP-110 stops official arbitrary data storage. Anything else is a lie. Bitcoin, only has ONE place for official arbitrary data storage in transactions, called OP_RETURN. Restrict that, and you restrict the official ability to store porn on bitcoin. Ramming it in somewhere else with steganographic attacks or via code exploits, are NOT supported uses of bitcoin and are therefore subject to fixes later. We stop OFFICIAL exploits now, and then work on the rest, iteratively. Which part of this is not clear? I welcome the discussion. Seriously. I'm a BIP-110 supporter. I'm reaching outside of my echo chamber. Prove me wrong.

@Bongo_King1 I sympathize with those who are concerned about spam on bitcoin, but I’d invite you to look around and see that you’re in an echo chamber that makes a minority fork (which doesn’t solve the issue) feel like the majority.

In my day job I work with tons of data. It piles up resulting in a number of costs. We should not invite these problems to our money ledger.
