British Isles Weather retweetledi

On the evening of 12 August 2026, a major solar eclipse will be visible across Wales.
At maximum eclipse (7:12pm), around 94% of the sun will be obscured in Aberystwyth. Across the UK, at least 90% will be covered, with the west of Ireland seeing around 98% of the sun covered.
There’s a line of totality which follows roughly the east coast of Greenland and the west coast of Iceland before cutting across northern Spain. If you happen to be in the Balearics at this time, it should be a fascinating sunset.
