@SawyerMerritt @elonmusk I've flown Delta to Asia and Europe — their in-flight internet is terrible. It drops out in the middle of nowhere. I'd trust my cat over a fish more than Delta's Wi-Fi. Worse, Delta management keeps making stupid decisions. Shareholders should investigate who's corrupt.

Delta Airlines has responded to Elon Musk's post below with a statement: “The assertion in question is not accurate. Incorporating Delta Sync with Starlink would have been permitted under SpaceX's in-flight Wi-Fi agreement." Delta on why it chose Amazon's LEO: "This agreement gives us the fastest and most cost-effective technology available to better connect the world today, and it deepens our work with a global leader that shares our ambition to build what’s next." The airline is targeting 2028 to start offering Leo in-flight Wi-Fi on about half of its fleet. The rest of the jets will continue to use Viasat and Hughesnet.

Delta rejected adopting SpaceX's @Starlink on its fleet because it wanted to provide internet connectivity to passengers via the Delta Sync portal, instead of the Starlink-branded portal. Delta has since chosen to partner with Amazon's LEO. This will result in Delta falling behind many of its competitors in offering high-speed WiFi onboard, as many other carriers are already offering or installing Starlink, whereas Amazon's LEO airplane WiFi for Delta is still a couple year away (or more). Satellites currently in orbit: • SpaceX's Starlink: 10,400 • Amazon's LEO: 300 (Delta rejection info according to Ron Baron)

SPACEX: A realtor named Jim Keaty of Keaty Real Estate published a rumor of possible SpaceX land acquisition in Louisiana. It states SpaceX may have acquired or is acquiring 136k acres (212 sq miles) of marshland south of Highway 82 towards the Gulf of America in Pecan Island and Freshwater City in Vermilion Parish of the Acadiana region. At the Southeast corner of the land near the Freshwater City boat launch is a plot ready to be converted for port operations and direct access to the Intercoastal Canal and the Gulf of America. Pecan Island is halfway between Boca Chica and Cape Canaveral, and has easy access to Cheniere LNG and Golden Pass LNG; both on the either side of the Louisiana and Texas border at Sabine Pass. This has not been confirmed by SpaceX of Elon. More SpaceX news in the ELON CHRON below!

@elonmusk Can I run a local AI model in my Tesla while parked for coding and agents? It feels like a waste of good hardware sitting dormant when it could be used for many tasks. A small Grok model is fine, but hosting open‑weight models like Qwen3.5 would be great.

Macrohard or Digital Optimus is a joint xAI-Tesla project, coming as part of Tesla’s investment agreement with xAI. Grok is the master conductor/navigator with deep understanding of the world to direct digital Optimus, which is processing and actioning the past 5 secs of real-time computer screen video and keyboard/mouse actions. Grok is like a much more advanced and sophisticated version of turn-by-turn navigation software. You can think of it as Digital Optimus AI being System 1 (instinctive part of the mind) and Grok being System 2. (thinking part of the mind). This will run very competitively on the super low cost Tesla AI4 ($650) paired with relatively frugal use of the much more expensive xAI Nvidia hardware. And it will be the only real-time smart AI system. This is a big deal. In principle, it is capable of emulating the function of entire companies. That is why the program is called MACROHARD, a funny reference to Microsoft. No other company can yet do this.

I want to move permanently to Claude, but their desktop experience is nowhere near ChatGPT. You can’t upload large/multiple documents to Claude because it can’t process them. ChatGPT ingests whatever you throw at it. This is the only thing keeping me from canceling my ChatGPT subscription.

I am sorry to report that the @Lemonade_Inc Tesla FSD discount may be a scam. I enrolled in their insurance after seeing their ad, but there was no discount at all. After frustrating email exchanges with what seemed like AI or terrible customer service, I was told I quoted one day before the discount applied, so it didn’t cover my plan. I was then told the discount would start from the next billing cycle, which was untrue. Finally, I was advised to cancel my current policy, get a new quote, and start a new plan. The best part: The new quote was much higher than my current one—to the point that my existing plan without the discount would be cheaper than the new one with it. So I’m just going to cancel. I no longer feel @Lemonade_Inc is a trustworthy insurance company. @SawyerMerritt @wholemars

I wouldn’t be so quick to declare FSD transfer dead after 3/31. They never said transfer is dead permanently, but people are assuming it will be based on the end of FSD purchases. Remember, transfer was originally a “one time” sales incentive. Compared to upgrading a HW3 car to HW4, allowing the customer to just buy a new car seems easier and better for the business… because of that I wouldn’t be surprised to see this as a sales incentive again if they are not selling enough cars.
