20 arrests confirmed arrests were made at the Unite the Kingdom march yesterday. For context, Notting Hill carnival last year had 443 arrests. The FA Cup final yesterday had 22 arrests. UTK had fewer arrests than a football match. Not a drunken, thuggish yob event at all.

Remember, it's all about peace and the babies in Gaza.

Ok, I spent 4 hours at the Unite the Kingdom rally today. I spoke to loads of people & I saw loads of things. Takeaway: Peaceful. Energetic. Inclusive. Positive. Patriotic. But, a fury with politicians & a desperate desire for change. I look forward to discussing it on my show Monday. In the meantime - allow me to share this image I took while there. For those of you with a sensitive disposition, look away now. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a sight more far-right in my whole life. In fact, I fear I may need some therapy, it was so traumatic. The Unite the Kingdom march organisers are spreading hatred and division. They do not reflect the Britain I’m proud of. Peaceful protest is a fundamental right and one I will always protect. But if protest turns violent, we will act swiftly, with extra court capacity in place.

I work within the British media. Let me tell all attendees of this event something… There are scores of my fellow media folk desperate for you to show violence and/or disorder. They are desperate to fill their front pages & their headlines with ‘racist’, ‘far-right’ etc. Even the smallest incidents will be amplified & will become the defining images. Agitators will be among you. On top of this, thousands of counter protesters will be close by, marching for their own cause (as is their right) and also to show rejection of yours. And on top of all this too, police will likely be heavy handed with you. If you’re attending today. You will be subject to provocation. Do NOT rise to it. If you do, you will shame yourselves & your cause. You will also give politicians even more excuses to clamp down on your free speech.
