@LizWebsterSBF @paullewismoney This has been happening for ages and only govt action can stop it. The DCMS (especially the M, for media bit) has done absolutely nothing about it. Another govt department is partly responsible apparently. If so, still no action. By the time action is taken, it will be too late.

So turns out the “London is collapsing” narrative isn’t grassroots at all. It’s being pumped out by bots, content farms, and foreign-aligned networks then laundered through politicians and media. Manufacture the fear. Repeat it enough. Turn it into policy.

Starmer furious: while Putin and Trump divide the world, ordinary families pay the price “I’m fed up with families and businesses across the country facing constant spikes in energy bills due to the actions of Putin and Trump around the world,” the UK prime minister said.

Zack Polanski- "Steve Reed, the Housing Secretary, he just charged £2,000 a pop to property developers to have a curry with him" "We know property developers were not spending £2,000 to have a nice chat" Pretty diabolical tbh.

@cwestword I get that but it’s incredible how many simply assumed the state pension would be adequate and never checked. I reckon many people on here bleating on about how hard up they are could have saved something if they’d known they needed to.

FA Cup quarter-finals as a standalone weekend is a disgrace. 14 PL clubs and their fans twiddling their thumbs while having to book annual leave for an extra midweek round a few months ago. Absolutely no need for it whatsoever

Hi @Nigel_Farage, your friend took a sword from a service person, a Marine and proceeded to dance with it and use it as a golf club. You can’t hide your decades of following his policies and cosying up to him.

@KarlTurnerMP @ann_on_dr Ok fair enough, but you’ll be interested to see the kind of support you are getting. In the main, the people supporting you don’t want Labour to win the election.

I am being told that I have had the whip suspended but I have not had any notification from the whips about this. It seems journalists have been told but I have not.

@lewis_goodall @AnneWya88761901 If you’d have given it a different title Lewis, I’d have watched it. But hostility is the headline before you even begin. We’re sick of it. So, frankly, I don’t care to watch. Call me blinkered, fine. Starmer is navigating a terrible global situation well. We should support him.

So disappointing from Goodall. Many are disappointed by some events but balance their opinion with excellent strategy over foreign affairs.

@KeithMa95432918 @bottomley50 @Helenus_ @Channel4 He was nearly removed from office a month ago. Labour is polling at historic lows. He has at points been the most unpopular PM since records began. I’d say, politically, it’s all gone wrong yes.

@KevinASchofield @peterjukes We’ve had glossy leaflets from Reform, by post, with our names and address. No idea why we would be targeted, so they must be spending £millions in postage. Who did they get the money from? Govt acting on crypto & foreign donations . Too late: it should have happened a year ago.

When the Reform party talk about deporting a million people, because they don’t like their ethnicity or skin colour, they mean it. They don’t mean: “We will deport only the foreigners you don’t like. Not the footballers playing for your team”.

@imageplotter Yes. It was once a credible, unbiased programme. It was uncomfortable at times when you saw your party being given a kicking, sometimes by a host, like Robin Day. We kept watching it because we knew other parties would also get a kicking, often in the same programme.

Unpopular thought - why do people keep watching Question Time, but then moan about its bias? I have not watched it for years. If more people stopped, it would send a clear message to programme makers and the host.

We want more creative jobs in the North East. So, we’re investing £2m to open a new @NewWritingNorth Centre for Writing and Publishing in the North East in the Old Post Office building in Newcastle. For too long, talented people in these industries had to to go London to succeed. I have promised to fix that. With this investment we’re a step closer to writers, publishers and creatives having the home they need to tell the our story and tell it here.
