@sfchronicle Says more about the Chronicle than about the pros and cons of special ways people take off their pants. Polling shows today's press is rightly held in low regard.

Off topic but will you do more reporting on these massive tech monopolies which operate in *your* metro area without easily accessible customer service phone numbers? Big Tech is at once ubiquitous and anonymous. This double standard cries out for much more attention from the press, especially the Chronicle. These monopolies are in your back yard. From WP (above).

You're poison, Lucas. But on the data center issue you are entirely correct. Your data center criticism is reasonable and actually understated. Unfortunately for you, you may need the help of "impotent cucks" to ban data centers, as the Harford County Commissioners did last week.

Virginia faces a major decision: should data centers keep receiving ~$2 billion a year in tax exemptions while families shoulder the costs? Join @RussetPerry & @pwcdanica, and me on Monday, June 15. It's our duty to protect Virginians & we want to hear from you. eventbrite.com/e/senator-l-lo…

Off topic but I don't know how to get Chronicle to run stories about monopolies in its backyard who refuse to provide customer service phone numbers. Any settlement with the DOJ or FTC must require Uber and its fraudulent "Uber One" program to provide a customer service phone number. These monopolies hide in your neighborhood, Chronicle. Double down on some reporting on this, Chronicle!

A year ago, a teen with a new license crashed a car in Marin, killing 4 of her friends. The event's catastrophic toll divided many on questions of accountability and closure. It's out in print tomorrow, with beautiful photos from @jachristian. Gift link: bit.ly/4cBIM6k

Hey Kristol, you would rather have the name up there of a statutory rapist. In what sense can you call his deflowering Mimi Alford and his asking her to service Bobby, Sr. and Dave Powers "consensual?" And the behavior took place in the White House itself. When you're talking about the power imbalance (the most powerful leader in the world vs a college intern), you are talking about the tendency of the victim to blame herself and accept partial responsibility. (She does.) That self-blame is an additional injustice inflicted on Alford, even beyond Kennedy's despicable acts. If we're going to mar the beauty of Monument Avenue (and other artifacts) by taking down an impeccable piece of art in Richmond, don't you think we can remove Kennedy's name from the our national arts building?

Two markers of American freedom. June 13, 1776, 250 years ago today: The Continental Congress selects five members for the Committee of War and Ordnance. June 13, 2026: Trump's name comes down from the Kennedy Center.

Hey Kristol, why did you wait 'til now (when you can finally cite an example) to seize on an instance of Trump's inflation exceeding Biden's? How aggressively did you seize on Biden's 5 percent yearly average? Where were you for 5 1/2 years during Biden's 20 percent total inflation and Trump's mere 2.7 in his first year in office?

The inflation rate in Biden's last month in office was 2.9%. Trump (supported by a Republican Congress) has driven it up to 4.2%. Thank you, voters, for your attention to this matter. wapo.st/3S2PCeA

Gray is a cheapass piece of s___ which came into the Valley with no concept of our history and traditions. It murdered Washington Channels 9, 7, and 5 in the Valley and the only Channel 4 we can get is a non-HD signal from the Charlottesville station. Screw you, Gray!

Claiborne and Madeira, we knew your hatred for Trump exceeded your desire for just policies. Turning your fire on "Christians who support him" is to ignore the dehumanizing alternative. Harris made abortion almost on demand the foundation of her campaign and thumbed her nose at Natural Law.

I am troubled by Trump. But I’m even more troubled by the Christians who support him. This is literally the parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus — Trump coldly talking about homeless folks outside his gates, as he leaves for Scotland to dedicate a golf course. Love, compassion, and concern for the vulnerable is at the very heart of the Gospel. Follow Jesus. Not Trump. Stand with the poor. Stand with the homeless. Stand with the widows and orphans. Stand with refugees and asylum seekers. “If anyone has material possessions and sees someone in need but has no compassion on them, how can the love of God be in that person?” -1 John 3:17

Democrats' people will obstruct and even hit law enforcement and get payouts if they feel their constitutional rights were violated. Yet grandmothers along with 1600 people who were targeted by the Biden DOJ and hauled into court to serve upwards of 20 years in prison are being snookered out of the anti-weaponization fund.

While Americans struggle to afford food and gas, Republicans want to fund a luxury ballroom and create a nearly $2 billion slush fund for Trump’s criminal friends. Trump and Republicans are focused on all the wrong things.

@therockbella @MarkWarner Are you talking about hauling in to federal court grandmothers along with 1600 people over a two hour riot in which the only homicide was committed against an unarmed woman? These victims of McCarthyism must be compensated.

It’s official. Trump dropped his lawsuit against his own IRS to get a $1.8 billion slush fund to pay his political allies. Your tax dollars become his giveaways to his friends.

@GLSnj @MarkWarner It's amazing any conservative NGO's survived after Obama used the IRS to go after dozens of them. He was so furious that Citizens United gave the First Amendment back to them that he even attacked the justices at the State of the Union speech.

@MarkWarner Hey Warner, if you and the mainstream media had any integrity whatsoever, you would call the overreaching targeting of grandmothers along with 1600 people at a two hour riot "McCarthyism."

See how this works? Courts immediately clear the way for new maps crafted in backrooms to hurt minority voters but block public referendum in VA to stop disenfranchisement. If our votes don’t matter, why are some working so hard to take ‘em away? apnews.com/article/alabam…

Dems hoisted themselves on their own petard. Early voting was a Democrat led rule change that helped tilt the '20 election. But last week the VA Supreme Court struck down Democrats' ballot initiative (to gerrymander) because 1.4 million voted early (before the scheme was on the ballot).
