@mattyglesias @ScottWRasmussen It's only a bad idea for teacher's unions and school administrators. It's a great idea for parents and kids.

@ScottWRasmussen The kind of unregulated choice republicans favor is unpopular and a bad idea on the merits

People sometimes do this and demand that I produce a specific list but I don’t think that makes sense, each Democratic Party elected official should decide for themselves which unpopular left-wing positions they personally are least committed to and drop some of them.

@mattyglesias These posts would be better if you explicated exactly what issues you think Democrats should give up on, and which you think they should not.

@StandWithUs The antisemitism in these comments is sad.
The repetition of terrorist propaganda myths about 10/7 is proof that critical thinking is dead. And this will ultimately doom us.

As HBO's acclaimed medical drama "The Pitt" concludes its second season, star and creator Noah Wyle is opening up about portraying his first Jewish character - and how the October 7th, 2023 Hamas massacre transformed what the role means to him. Wyle, 54, plays Dr. Michael "Robby” Robinavitch in the series, a character whose Jewish background became "something significant" after the pogrom, he told Jewish Chronicle.
"All of this was before October 7th. After the pogrom, it became something significant in the character," Wyle explained. "We wanted Robby to be distant from his faith and in need of connection to it."
The character's name honors Wyle's own family - his great-grandmother's father was named Robinavitch, and the other side of the family was Rabinsky. Dr. Robinavitch wears a Star of David around his neck and, in a pivotal scene, clutches it while reciting the Shema Israel for comfort.

@kgun9 I love how they are just now pretending to be concerned that Nanos suspended his political opponent years after the election. Because of outside pressure. They didn't care then because he's a Democrat, and it's perfectly normal for a Democrat to use duty tricks to win elections.
English

@BernieSanders Why!? Why would the Jews just randomly kill all these people and destroy their homes? Did something happen in October 2023?
What?
Oh.
Never mind.

@uaustinorg @SpencerKlavan The 90's were definitely better than today.

"Nostalgia is less about the truth of how great things used to be, and more about the luxury of reliving a time that’s safely over. We can replay yesterday without all the grief and uncertainty it had when it was still today." – @SpencerKlavan, UATX Professor of Classics, in @TheFP

@maryarchived What kind of men has this woman had in her life that makes her believe this nonsense?
English

lots of strange reactions to this game. let’s clear some things up:
childless men do not have paternal instincts the way that childless women have maternal instincts (we observe this even in the way little girls play vs. little boys).
men first experience paternal instincts once they have their own children - and typically, those paternal instincts are only ever felt for their own children, and no one else’s.
men are not nurturers. men don’t gush over cute kids in public. men don’t have baby fever. if a man wants to possess a child for any reason other than it being a product of his own lineage, he is likely a predator.
and you’d be taking the feminist/radical gender abolitionist position to protest any of the above points.
this should explain why a “dad simulator” game marketed to mostly childless men gives people the creeps.

City of Tucson leaders are revealing how they want to use tax money, with one focus being chipping away at a deficit pushing almost $20 million. kvoa.com/news/local/tuc…

@_akdz_ @hubermanlab The same people will mock others for saying "it's cold outside today, so climate change isn't real."
English

@hubermanlab The detractors have the same energy as "I smoked cigarettes all my life and didn't get lung cancer".
English

@hubermanlab But wait, I've been told for decades now that weed is nature's perfect medicine for everything, with no down side.
What if I still want that to be true? Should I just get high and pretend this new information is fake?

@AZHockeyNut @CraigSMorgan @utahmammoth @espn Not all of Utah's games are broadcast here. Sometimes it's Utah and sometimes it's Vegas. Occasionally there is just no game broadcast at all.
Colorado is never broadcast here, so go figure how they justify that blackout.
English

@CaffeinatedinAZ @CraigSMorgan @utahmammoth @espn I was under the impression you can watch them over the air for free no?
English

@BadieNrbmom @CraigSMorgan @utahmammoth @espn Right? We randomly either get Vegas or Utah over the air. Whatever they feel like showing I guess. And sometimes neither. It's infuriating.
English

@CaffeinatedinAZ @CraigSMorgan @utahmammoth @espn TOTALLY agree, it’s so rude! Pretty sure tonight will be blacked out as LV is on the CW, which makes NO sense at all!
