OH MY WORD!!! We'd heard good things about the breakfast on the Transport for Wales loco hauled trains, but that was out of this world! A sausage sandwich with hash browns for Austin (£6.95) and a full Welsh breakfast for me (£12.50). tfw.wales/ways-to-travel…

Rooftop solar makes so much sense. ☀️⛅️ The sun keeps rising day after day even in Costa del Wales.🙌⚡️😍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿👀 Solar actually works great outside the summer months. 424 kWh so far this month. Energy independence straight from your roof. @OctopusEnergy installed mine, highly recommended! £100 off - Read my review. octopusreferral.link/solar-panels-i…

“We can make our existing network do an awful lot more” Octopus Energy CEO @g__j says we need to ‘reassess all grid plans’ and scrap things like ‘carbon capture storage’ as ‘the technology just hasn’t got there’ #Peston

@WoopsWoah @itvpeston @g__j Wind and solar are gash. If you haven't noticed the countries that do use a lot of eco energy are powered by hydropower. The best way for the UK would be a combo of nuclear and tidal power. It's more predictable and reliable.

@CaptainCave11 @itvpeston @g__j Scrapping the net zero 'bollocks' as you put it would leave the UK completely open to oil shocks forever. The wind and solar are just starting to reach the point where they control the costs. Just one bad oil shock costs as much as transitioning to renewables.

@LoftusSteve No there isn't. That's a right wing myth. What's real is the multi-billion tax avoidance by the mega-rich.

@MikeBerridge @BlokeOnWheels The point is this isn't just a one off. Everyone knows there are genuine cases who of course should be supported by society. However there are too many work shy piss takers taking advantage of the system.

I'm feeling rather pissed off this morning. There is an article on the ITV website about a woman who claimed PIP because she was housebound with crippling anxiety. She was found to have committed fraud after images of her zip lining in Mexico were uncovered. Apparently she said that 'she didn't realise you're not allowed to leave your home'. She literally told the DWP she couldn't leave home and based her claim off of that lie. The problem is, it gives all the twunts exactly the ammunition they need to paint everybody else as liars and fraudsters, particularly with regard to claims for severe anxiety and depression.

@JMPSimor So the UK market hasn't been flooded with Australian imported beef, with the actual import levels far lower than the maximum quota. Tell us what the issue is here?

I actually disagree. I’m a fan of net zero of course and it’s good to hear the Climate Change Committee (of deep subject matter experts) say we are more or less on target…though I think there are questionable assumptions around the bigger later years cuts forecast , reliance on dodgy tech like carbon capture and storage.. but that aside. Where I disagree is with the idea we need to re make the case for net zero. I think we should shut up about it. It’s been toxified, like the EU before it - just say its name and you’re in an uphill battle. Better to talk about energy bills, cost of living, jobs and economic growth - the green economy. Let’s talk about the benefits of getting there, rather than the destination. Next zero is too abstract for too many people who struggle day to day - let’s talk about the benefits of the green economy, which is how we get to net zero. independent.co.uk/climate-change…

I was at my mums last night (she is 74). We'd also been talking about her energy bills and the fact they've gone up considerable over the last few years. I was scrolling and showed her this. She laughed and said people are terrible. Someone like Dale believes @OctopusEnergy seeing sales increase when people rush to THEM for energy security is them being SMUG. It's the result of hard work and the fact people trust them!! Imagine that!! Instead of @g__j looking smug he looks like someone who's got his customer messaging right. We do need more rooftop solar!! I had my solar installed by Ocotpus and the fact i trusted them was a massive reason why i ended up going through with it. You've got to focus on the bigger picture and Octopus consistantly do that!!! Unbelievably ridiculous to look inwards right now!! I do watch the news but it makes me feel i have no control over world events. It is ironic in a time when this war in Iran focus on attacking power supplies to strangle the world that Dale thinks it's a good time to turn on each other over energy security. Bonkers!! Having solar gives me a sense of control at times like this. No one can block the sun!! Even today when it's raining i'm generating my own energy. Here we go £100 off if you want to be smug and get solar with Octopus!! Energy security is about what's best for your home and gives you some control over your bills. tech.referrals.octopus.energy/uVlzFUPg
Dale Vince@DaleVince

Funny, we're busy arguing for action to bring bills down in this crisis. Octopus seem focussed on themselves. Smug in a crisis, what crisis? Ours sales are up.... bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@sarah_go_green Spot on. Energy security starts at home. Keep your solar non grid tied. Easy to do and stops retail energy scumbags making profit off your investment.

We need more rooftop solar!!! This month i've generated more than i can use and it's March! Energy security is the way forward for homes. It's just on your roof and no one can block access to the sun, not even in Costa del Wales. 😍⚡️🕶️

Should all new homes come with solar panels? Under new government plans, developers in England will be required to install them, along with heat pumps, in all new-build homes. Ministers say it’s the future - but will it push up house prices?

🚨 BENEFITS CHEAT MUM, 33, CLAIMS £23K FOR BEING HOUSEBOUND WITH ANXIETY – THEN JETTED TO CANCUN FOR CLUBBING, ZIPLINING & SURFING! Catherine Wieland from East Sussex raked in £23,662 PIP over two years, swearing she couldn’t cook, wash or leave the house alone due to crippling anxiety, PTSD and dyslexia. Reality? She was spotted at Thorpe Park THREE times, Chessington, Brighton Pride, quad-biking, cave-exploring, 76 beauty appointments and 60 pub/club nights – plus a luxury Mexico holiday with her son! DWP surveillance and her own social media posts nailed her. Hove Crown Court heard she even bagged a Motability BMW. Judge slammed: “Pure and simple fraud… aggravated by pubbing, clubbing and Cancun.” 28-week suspended sentence + full £23k repayment ordered. Classic!
