@AlanMitchellAFR @ConversationEDU The biggest hit will come from the cost of power and the policies to promote expensive and unreliable energy. How long have power-intensive industries got?

@keating01 Can you imagine the shit show that would come from Paulines mob actually running the place given they have no real policies on anything and even less of an idea how to create them without asking their wealthy backers.

One Nation's "Fire the Liar" campaign has now raised $3.79 million from 61,829 Australians. But the most interesting story may not be the money. A newly released donation heat map suggests significant support may be coming from Australia's major cities—not just the regional areas traditionally associated with One Nation. Has Pauline Hanson finally broken through in metropolitan Australia? Or is the map simply reflecting population density? Wind and solar ain't capacity! open.substack.com/pub/rafechampi… The three legs of the green energy transition are not up for the assignment. The solar leg fails every night. The wind fails during severe wind droughts. And what about batteries to fill the gaps? Bill Gates is a student of storage technology, and he blows up when he hears the word batteries. youtu.be/VjgDvG13Hgs Several orders of magnitude too small!

ALL ENERGY AUSTRALIA CONFERENCE 28-29 OCTOBER open.substack.com/pub/rafechampi… Not on the program: The cost of the Capacity Investment Scheme. The secret deals to support major projects to install more wind and solar and batteries. Blowouts in the cost of major projects. Impact of power prices on productivity and the future of smelting, mineral processing and manufacturing. IMPACTS IN THE COUNTRY Loss of arable land. Drying effects in the wake of turbines – elevating fire hazards. Toxic residues in soil and groundwater. Disposal of used hardware. Impact on the mental health of the rural community. Suicide rate of farmers.

@TomANelson That reminds me of a rabid outburst by Bill Gates many years ago, in response to the suggestion that batteries will help, with a reminder of the realities of making steel and cement! youtu.be/VjgDvG13Hgs

The vibe shift is real and spectacular! Now we've got a guy at a WEF Davos panel pointing out obvious, showstopping problems with woke energy, and instead of pushing back, the other panelists nod and agree.
Disclose.tv@disclosetv

NOW - Honeywell CEO says solar power cannot produce cement or steel, "They are very energy-intensive... It's physics... Renewables remain in the mix, but it cannot bring the amount of joules we need to produce this infrastructure which is required in the world."

An absolute takedown of the whole Net Zero agenda by U.S. Energy Secretary @SecretaryWright. Britain is crying out for an energy secretary that is driven by rationality and not zealotry.

Earlier today, I happened to visit what used to the offices or corporate campuses for a local newspaper in a county outside of Seattle. Built in the early 1990s, when local newspapers still had a business. The building was lovely, with a large atrium, and the surrounding campus was like a golf course. Nothing remains of the newspaper operations. The building is largely empty, save for a few scattered tenants. But at one time, this building was full of activity. Each day, reporters and photographers ventured out to document daily life throughout this county of nearly 1 million. They not only covered the boring things like local politics, or the dark things like crime, but also the human stories. Profiles of curious characters. Local cultural events. High school sports. Their archives were a rich record of daily life for generations in this area. People no longer learn about those stories. They have little knowledge of local politics, or curious characters, or unique businesses, or local sports heroes. More importantly, history in the community will be a big black hole from the early 2000s on, with people having no idea what has even occurred in this area, who is running the show, or anything else. 50 years from now, historians will struggle to understand what happened here. As I strolled through that empty atrium, it felt haunted. Deafening silence when just 20 years ago it was a vibrant nexus of community life. This story repeats in communities around the country. A population that has no idea what is going on around them and will soon have no idea where they came from or how they got here.

Trillions of dollars have been spent around the world rolling out wind and solar infrastructure and we have got in return more expensive and less reliable power with catastrophic environmental impacts. The elephant in the room is the wind droughts or dunkelflautes that Australian investigators documented over a decade ago. rafechampion.substack.com/p/the-late-dis… Dirt farmers are alert to the threat of rain droughts, but the wind farmers never checked the reliability of the wind supply to become aware of wind droughts. rafechampion.substack.com/p/we-have-to-t… Wind droughts become an existential threat to thousands or tens of thousands of people when the wind drought trap closes on a windless night during extreme weather conditions coinciding with outages of conventional power. By 2035, Britain plans to switch its electric grid to net zero, and ban sales of petrol cars and gas boilers. These policies imply a supply shortfall of 69GW – or 27 Hinkley Cs. In today's @TheCriticMag, I search for the offical plan to plug the gap. thecritic.co.uk/2035-the-end-o…

Defusing the wind drought trap open.substack.com/pub/rafechampi… It was a dark and stormy night in Texas, Febuary 2021 when the power failed and the state almost went black from end to end. This could happen all over the US if the Trump administration fails to extricate the nation from the "wind drought trap."

Support for the wind and solar transition should collapse like a punctured balloon when people regularly check the dashboard for their local grid at sunrise and sunset, or breakfast and dinnertime. This is Texas, ERCOT gridstatus.io/live/ercot Britain energydashboard.co.uk/live Aust nem-watch.info/widgets/RenewE… This will signal the number of occasions when the meals will have to be served cold if the heat has to come from wind and solar power. What if a Presidential Executive Order mandates all weather reports to include the percentage of wind and solar power in the local grid at the time? Trillions of dollars have been spent around the world rolling out wind and solar infrastructure and in return we have more expensive and less reliable power with catastrophic environmental impacts. The elephant in the net zero room is the wind droughts or dunkelflautes that Australian investigators documented over a decade ago. rafechampion.substack.com/p/the-late-dis… Dirt farmers are alert to the threat of rain droughts, but the wind farmers never checked the reliability of the wind supply to become aware of wind droughts. rafechampion.substack.com/p/we-have-to-t… Wind droughts become an existential threat to thousands or tens of thousands of people when the wind drought trap closes on a windless night during extreme weather conditions coinciding with outages of conventional power. 🚨“𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐬?” — 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐳𝐞𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐈𝐥𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 Dr. Richard Lindzen, a distinguished atmospheric physicist and longtime professor at MIT, delivers a reality check to Net Zero fantasies: You can claim 110% renewables, but what happens when the wind doesn’t blow? The sun doesn’t shine? Your 100% vanishes. And what replaces it? Fossil fuels are now forced to operate inefficiently. He exposes the bizarre logic driving European climate policy and warns: nations are being asked to sacrifice themselves for symbolic gestures that do nothing for the planet. This isn’t about saving the Earth but submission to ideology over science. (Link to full interview is in the reply.) @JamesMelville @BjornLomborg @ChrisMartzWX
