All the fears & concerns our lawyer placed before the SC regarding the IHC were realised today in the IHC hearing for simply a date. With @ImaanZHazir's 2 harrassment petitions against CJ IHC, it's never going 2 b abt justice or law or even due process but always abt vengeance. #ReleaseImaanAndHadi

🚨🚨#BREAKING: In @ImaanZHazir and @AdvHadiali appeals hearing, #JusticeAzamKhan refused to issue notices or hear the case on the ground of not placing certified copy of #SupremeCourt (an objection which is even not raised by the registrar office of #Islamabad high court but surprisingly judge raised himself in the courtroom), Faisal Siddiqui advocate repeatedly told him to take the copy of written order but judge even refused to take the certified copy.

"If the vote of no confidence against the Prime Minister succeeds, all will be forgiven." The US role in the coup against Pakistani PM Imran Khan is undeniable. Yet, elected officials and journalists in the US remain overwhelmingly silent. Where is the accountability?

With the cypher published, revisit when Lu told Congress it was all a "conspiracy theory" Lu falsely claimed to support democracy as Biden admin gave diplomatic cover for Asim Munir to steal 2024 election @RepJoeWilson: "your response is so good"

The United States government, with the full support of the Biden administration, was advocating that Pakistan oust President Imran Khan from the government.... Because he didn't support Ukraine. It's so disgusting. He's languishing in prison to this very day.

Drop Site’s reporting confirms what millions already believed: Washington pressured Pakistan’s establishment to remove Imran Khan for refusing to toe the line. Curious what message the new Donald Lu (Secretary Kapur) carried this time for Pakistan’s new pliant regime while democracy crumbles, and political prisoners remain behind bars.

When we first obtained this document, we deemed it too risky to publish in full. For a variety of reasons we don’t need to get into, the risk equation has changed and it’s important this memo be in the historical record.

We Thank the UN Committee Against Torture for Highlighting Ongoing Rights Violations The UN Committee against Torture (CAT) raises concerns about the detention of Dr. Mahrang Baloch, along with former Prime Minister Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, Idris Khattak, and Ali Wazir. The Committee also expressed concern over the denial of medical care to detained rights activists and political figures. The UN Committee against Torture (CAT) on May 1st issued its findings on Pakistan after reviewing the States Parties in its latest session. The Committee’s findings confirmed what we have long said: arbitrary detention, reprisals, and abuse against dissenting voices must end. The Committee further highlighted reports of torture, enforced disappearances, and retaliation against human rights defenders, journalists, and critics of the government. We join CAT in calling on the Government of Pakistan to end these violations, review the cases of all those detained or imprisoned on political grounds or in retaliation for their work, ensure access to adequate medical care in detention, and guarantee fair trials. ungeneva.org/en/news-media/…

🚨 BILLBOARD CAMPAIGN LIVE in USA— 1,000 DAYS OF ILLEGAL IMPRISONMENT 🚨 Today marks 1,000 days since former prime Minister Imran Khan was imprisoned under a regime accused of silencing dissent and dismantling democracy. Now, this message is impossible to ignore. 📍 billboards are LIVE on the New Jersey Turnpike (I-95) — one of America’s busiest corridors — bringing Pakistan’s democratic struggle to the heart of the New York–Philadelphia corridor. Under the shadow of power tied to Illegal and illegitimate military regime what we are witnessing is not justice — it is political persecution. 1,000 days of:▪️ Solitary confinement▪️ Denial of fundamental rights▪️ Reported medical neglect — Loss of his vision including his wife. The United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention has declared his detention arbitrary, illegal, and politically motivated. The United Nations Committee Against Torture has repeatedly emphasized the obligation to prevent custodial abuse, ensure medical care, and uphold humane detention standards. Meanwhile, U.S. legislative efforts — H.R.2311 and H.R.5271 — raise alarm over: ▪️ Human rights violations ▪️ Democratic backsliding ▪️ Rigged elections ▪️ Enforced disappearances ▪️ Media censorship and judicial suppression. ▪️ Potential sanctions on perpetrators This is a defining moment. The world is watching.History will remember who stood for justice. Special thanks to the Pakistani American diaspora for their support and standing firmly against oppression, injustice, and dictatorship. The only way forward is clear: respect the true mandate of the people, ensure justice for all political prisoners, and restore stability by releasing Imran Khan—rebuilding trust with the diaspora, international institutions, and securing long-term peace. #ReleaseImranKhan #HumanRights #Democracy #Pakistan

The erroneous news reports indicating that the U.S. and Iran would be restarting talks were produced because Pakistan’s ISPR sent the following incorrect update to many journalists. (They didn’t send it directly to me, but I was forwarded it.) This was the message: “Breaking ‼️ *Attributable to Government Sources* Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to arrive in Islamabad tonight with a small delegation, according to government sources. Following important discussions with the Pakistani mediation team, a second round of Islamabad peace talks between the United States and Iran is expected, government sources say. A U.S. logistics and security team is already present in Islamabad to facilitate the negotiation process.” It was never true that Aragchi had any plans to re-enter negotiations last week. Why would the Pakistanis say otherwise? Anyway, odd stuff.

The brutal US-backed regime of Asim Munir must immediately cease its repression against its citizens — which it can only do because of US political, economic, and military backing. Asim Munir's unproductive role in talks is no excuse for further harm to the people of Pakistan.

Pakistan regime using talks to justify further repression: Public "growing frustrated" with "weeks-long lockdown of roads, schools and offices... platoons of armed guards continued to blockade main roads, government workers stayed home and businesses endured shortened hours."

⭕️ FT: Pakistan's army chief is the unlikely broker of US-Iran talks but faces mounting doubts over his neutrality and ability to secure a deal 🔹Field Marshal Asim Munir, Pakistan's most powerful figure, has emerged as the surprise lead mediator between the US and Iran where he has been spending days in Tehran meeting not just political leaders but the Revolutionary Guards, while staying in constant phone contact with the White House, the Financial Times reports. 🔹Ali Vaez, an Iran specialist at the International Crisis Group think-tank, described his approach as “a whole-of-the-system approach to mediation”, personally engaging every major Iranian power centre to ensure no faction feels left out. Pakistani officials were so confident Iran would attend a second round of talks in Islamabad that authorities locked down swaths of the city and prepared signs celebrating an "Islamabad Peace Deal." Iran didn't show. 🔹Analysts and diplomats are increasingly questioning Pakistan's neutrality; they have signed a mutual defence agreement with Saudi Arabia, deepened financial ties with Trump's circle, and have avoided publicly criticising the naval blockade or pushing back on Israel's exclusion of Lebanon from the ceasefire.

🇵🇰 Jeremy Scahill says Pakistan’s role in the Iran talks is under scrutiny after relaying assurances that did not materialize. He reports Iranian officials were told Trump would “lift the blockade” on the Strait of Hormuz and extend the ceasefire before talks resume. Instead, Trump extended the ceasefire while keeping the blockade in place. Scahill says Iranian officials told him “we don’t exactly know what Pakistan was told,” and describe Pakistani intermediaries as “scrambling” to understand Trump’s shifting positions. After presenting itself as a brilliant diplomatic broker, Pakistan, as a result, now has “egg on its face.” @jeremyscahill | @ryangrim | @emilyjashinsky
