@beefbillionare Is “mature” the new keyword for monopolies and oligopolies? The Cattle Industry looking back at the 25 year view healthy? 😂😂maybe the packer and retail sectors. Ask the cow/calf man if this business is healthy minus the last 2 years.

@Chickenman918 Find a business that doesn’t have most of those and tell me why cattle are different. In fact I’d argue they are the healthiest of most of these mature industries.

2) Family-owned dairies, independent hardware stores, local feed mills, and multi-generational pharmacies all faced this reality when competitors offered better prices. They closed down, consumers won, and nobody cried out for them. Cattle are not an exception to the rule.

Heifers as a percent of total US #cattle slaughter is plummeting compared to 2025 and the major historical averages. DUMPER!!! A slow trend based metric but is it safe to assume that the pasture conditions and the feeder curve have been signaling retention?

@ian693 My mom had the same cancer, when they found it tumor was inoperable. She put it in Gods hands, never took a treatment and lived 8 years with a good quality of life.

Today marks 6 months since I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cholangiocarcinoma Cancer. The UPenn doctors gave me approximately 12 months to live. Halfway there, I’m continuing the fight and enjoying life! I plan on sticking around a while!! #GetBusyLiving

@sippingsuds Will this make you happy if it happens? Do you wanna see the cow/calf guy take 10 years of triple digit losses per head?

@sd1459 @roesch_scott Maybe. But opening the border again with no containment of NWSW and more cattle will for sure hurt me. So, if you are correct, keep the border closed and see where the cards fall on everything else. Gamble I’ll take.

Border closed for NWSW is equivalent to the masking stage of Covid 19!!! Its doing more harm to beef producers than good longterm!

Feeder cattle are expensive because they were too cheap to support their production, for decades. There isn’t another answer as to why it is what it is. And the only solution is for them to be “too high” for too long. Shit balances out in the long run. It’s called karma.

Basis is poor and expected to worsen. As thought last week, cattlemen are stretching themselves thinner, without the support from the center of the plate, up to the packer. Cattle feeders saw profits narrow and projected negative margins widen last week. This is expected to continue.

@JerodMcDaniel We’ve been beat on so bad so many times we believe that as soon as we start expansion the rug is going to be pulled out from under us quite rapidly.

Cattle market is fascinating to me, it can’t seem to pay enough to get people to produce ample supplies to create value for the middle men and end users, and every year that goes by… what’s left of a national herd keeps getting another year older collectively

@marklevinshow It is crystal clear to me at least that neither Israel and fundamentalist Muslim nations/factions want peace.

@beefbillionare Have you ever dealt with NWS, TB, Bird Flu, African Swine Fever or any reportable disease in the major 3 food animals?? If you haven’t, maybe you should before shaping your opinion on our border. Stick to paper cattle and let the leading experts in these fields fight this pest.

Wonder how many plant closures it will take before the “border needs to stay shut” crowd will reconsider? 2-3 or more?

@beefbillionare You are missing the point. Producer profitability would’ve never made us reliant on Mexican live cattle. We could have supplied our infrastructure as is with very few imports.

@ckleene @laurenpayne2012 Good point, I had not looked at it from this perspective. A bump in efficiency, but not a mysterious few million head extra appearing.

The way that beef on dairy was explained to me because I'm not smart was obviously those calves were already going to beeflots. . however this dairy I spoke with attributed a 10% increase (to beef) to sexed semen and a 10% increase due to Angus crosses (feed efficiency) over the last decade. I'm a hog guy so take that for what it is worth

@seanmdav They buy high % offal type products like tongues, chicken paws etc. for the most part they prefer different parts of the carcass than Americans. I see it as a win. I raise cattle so it is good for me.

We just relaxed tariffs on importation of Argentinian beef because the lack of U.S. supply relative to demand was jacking up prices, but now we are going to export the U.S. beef we were told we were short on to China? Make it make sense.
Secretary Brooke Rollins@SecRollins

Proud to confirm that our deal-maker-in-chief @POTUS has done it AGAIN! 🇺🇸🥩🤝 American beef — the best beef in the world! — will be back on the shelves in China soon. They are implementing beef commitments, including resuming imports from 17 states. This means restoring up to $165 per head in added value for exports for our cattle ranchers. Mostly variety cuts like hoofs and tongues that Americans don’t prefer to consume. This builds on our work @USDA and @Interior to provide the certainty that ranchers need to grow the domestic beef herd. This is critical because the herd size has given historic lows in recent years. Thank you to our great President, alongside our amazing chief negotiators @USTradeRep and @SecScottBessent for putting our farmers and ranchers FIRST. What a WIN-WIN for ranchers, and ultimately consumers.💪
