"Hottest May day for nearly 80 years", screams The Guardian. theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/m… In other words, 80 years ago it was even hotter. In other words, the climate is getting COOLER! All thanks to CO2, or so we're (without hard scientific evidence) told.


Today will be the hottest day in May in the UK in our temperature records, with highs of 35 degrees Celsius expected📈 The current May record is 32.8 °C. Records are usually only broken by tenths of a degree - making this heatwave unprecedented for the time of year 🌡️



















Temperatures have peaked today at 30.5°C in Frittenden, Kent 🌡️ This marks the first time in 2026 that the UK has passed the 30°C threshold It is very rare for the UK to record 30°C in May, with the last time being over a decade ago on 25 May 2012
