A stylish commercial building on Centre St NW in @chcayyc. It was advertised as a Modernistic landmark when it was built in 1947 to house two businesses: De Luxe Car Sales, and the North Hill Real Estate Co. Located a bit south of where the Beacon Hotel would later be built.

The city evidently needs to revisit its bonus system in the area to make it equally $ attractive for owners to retain a property and transfer the density as to demolish values heritage & community sites-So things not working atm @CalgaryHeritage

Removes tripping hazards from the sidewalk itself and in theory reduces the % of sketchy implementations by guiding safe construction vs residents winging it.

Mystery Monday: This photo is of 5/6ths of a large linocut mural that would have measured approx 24 ft long x 6 ft tall that graced the inside of a #yyc establishment in the 60s, 70s and/or 80s. Does anyone remember seeing this & can point out where it was displayed? #yycheritage
