@jkimballcook I really like this in theory, but find it hard to implement. How can you be confident in your assessment of virtue? I've been disappointed by many in life who I'd thought to be very good people who it turned out had long histories of terrible behaviors and judgement.

Another ‘tradition’? I have facial hair and would not be approved to work in any temples. I would have to shave it off for their personal convention. And since I won’t I’m told on X that my priorities are clear, vs. that same judgement being turned on temple presidents for making up rules. However, temple operation is under their purview, I respect that, and they can make those calls.

I have been studying President Oaks' talks from the beginning of his apostolic service (slowly—I'm only up through 1989 now) and here are some things I've noticed: 1. He frequently will pick up a theme or idea from an earlier talk and expand on it in a later talk. 1/

@jkimballcook What frustrates me most about criticisms like this is just how utterly counterproductive they are. Not one person who liked Kirk/TPUSA has changed their opinion after reading these stupid criticisms, but they have succeeded in alienating people who may have been undecided.

I'm sick of this. Disagree with her on the merits of what she says instead of judging her for not grieving the right way. Trauma affects people in unpredictable ways, and people don't have to be somber all the time to properly grieve.

Once again, I struggle to understand how we have chocolate. I mean, someone saw this fruit & thought "Fruit is usually yummy, I should eat it." They opened it up & saw a glob of mucus covered pods thar are—from my understanding—sweet & slightly citrusy but look like a giant booger. That person then said "You know what, I should ferment these for a while! And then I should just let them sit there for a week or so to let them dry and get all crusty. You know what would work after that? ROASTING them! Probably should break them down into little nibs, too. Ah, then I probably should grind them into dust! Oh, I should add milk and sugar too!" How we got from point a to point b just baffles me.

Depending on whether you believe in the TACO trade or not, views will differ very widely on where the economy is headed > no way to realistically predict where AI will be in a few years and what type of productivity boost it will provide to current juniors > less capital being returned to LPs mean that seniors are sticking around longer waiting for carry dollars. Promotion path and churn will not look like historical averages over the past decade

Yerba mate is my current solution, but open to hearing suggestions.

The hardest time of the week for me to stay awake is the second half of sacrament meeting. Coffee and tea are out of bounds, but I am not committed to being totally caffeine free. I don't like drinking soda in the early morning, though, and there aren't a lot of other options.
