The worst part of the damage in much of NC and GA is that it was so totally unexpected. No one anticipated anything as bad as this. There were the usual hysterics in FL but no one in the mountains of NC expected significant damage.

Since the Democrats don't have any workable policies, their main campaign issue is to claim that Trump is trying to implement the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025. The truth is that they have been developing their 'Mandate' since Reagan took office in 1981 and have never worked with Trump on it. @RevShark The Kroger employee testified to it, take it up with him. Also $1 billion a year in stock buybacks would also be profit as are other compensation hijinks that lower “profit.” We can have free enterprise and also not get played for fools. Monopolies kill capitalism.

@ClayButcher Don't be an idiot. Kroger net profit margin as of April 30, 2024 is 1.43%. If you don't like Krogers prices there are plenty of other places to buy. Free enterprise works. Stupid government spending doesn't it. Stop defending Democrats

They are actually going to stick with the position that inflation is caused by greedy corporations. The sad part about this is that there are many economic illiterate voters that will believe it.

@RevShark Yes. ADM, Bunge, Cargill, COFCO and Louis Dreyfuss Company hold a monopoly position on the global market for staples like grain, corn, soy and sugar. The supermarket is mostly monopolies too, as far as pricing power. Not real competition.

Is there a lack of competition in the food business?

I doubt that this is very effective but it is what you do when you've screwed up the economy, the border, and foreign relations.

@ClayButcher I think Trump is an ass at times but I have no choice but to support him when the alternative is Biden. When it comes to morality I don't believe that Biden is any better than Trump.

Biden is terrible on so many issues-the economy, foreign policy, the border, taxes, etc--but there are two issues that I believe totally disqualify him. The fact that he was willing to force people to get a COVID vaccination by threatening their job and the fact that he has changed Title 9 to allow 'men' to compete in women's sport. Those two things tell me more about his views than anything else.

@RevShark That’s a severe take. I think he’s a pretty typical old guy politician that makes calculations based on what his supporters want. How do you reconcile trumps adultery with his newborn at home with wanting to avoid “evil” candidates?

@ClayButcher You missed my point. These two issues show you want kind of person Biden really is. He wants the government to control your life and he is not unwilling to hurt women to benefit a small group of mentally ill people. The man is incompetent, impaired, and evil.

@RevShark That’s farfetched. The inflation reduction act and infrastructure bill have boosted whole industries. Look at Nucor or first solar. Look at CAT. They were doing nothing before that.
