Coach…Spring and summer ball objectives : 1) Master fundamentals by NEVER letting the details become secondary thoughts 2) Evaluate talent and then decide scheme/ scheme is useless if talent can’t execute it 3) Coach coaches…if they can’t be improved to be efficient then delete them( your job isn’t friendships it’s doing the very best for players and the people who pay u 4) Eliminate thinking for your players thru repetitive drills and concepts 5) Build camaraderie thru team building ( brief 2-5 minute unique engagements which allow team-mates to truly express their “hardships and wins in life outside sports 6) Be careful about believing u are great or suck based on competition between each other…One side may be great and the other suck…Be careful making hasty evaluations 7) Go home early and be a phenomenal parent and husband…If head coach wants u there just because he’s miserable at home…find another job 8) Laugh hard at yourself 9) Improve yourself first 10) Take care of your mental health ( exercise, read, watch funny TikTok’s) 11) Adjust…It’s never as simple as it seems 12) Recruit…Make football fun by u being fun and players will get their buddies to come play 13) Don’t be a bully …Coach hard and firm and fun but filter yourself when u are simply just a reactionary horses ass because u have power and u are having a bad day…U can damage another human for life by being a bully 14) Never forget your power of influence… today and everyday you will either make another human have a good or bad life by how u treat them…Use your influence as if it’s life and death( because it is)

@coachdecost1 Love a program with any sort of carry variation. What’s day 4 look like? I could see adding an RDL/Good Morning for a hinge movement and a pull up/chin up for a vertical pull
English

@CoachjakeOL The extra distance between the OL and DL gives time for the holster to develop, which seems to be the primary objection here. However, if a kid struggles with it, we can make an exception, or if we’re playing a stud who’s still closing the distance on us quickly
English

@CoachJones_BHS So you do the holster because you ban your guys up off the line?
English

@ConorHughes67 @MackOHalloran @ArmyWP_Football Awesome lift. Coach, do you have progressions that you teach your new guys for bench and deadlift similar to your squat and clean progressions?

A lingering question with @PaulSimmonsHU now as the GM of @Harding_FB and no longer the head coach:
Does the old-school flexbone offense live on?
Simmons' resounding answer to that question ⬇️

@devon_hensley @TheLastFullback @PaulSimmonsHU @Harding_FB @D2Football @WingOffNetwork @FilmHistoric @D1_Rejects @NCAADII @KChism_ @MichaelGragg Harding doesn’t usually run a ton of IV. It’s still one of the main plays, but the primary triple they run is ML3. The 6-1/4-3 can allow DL to stop Zone Dive and the Mike is in good position to make a tackle if there’s a pitch. Check of GV ST two years ago for reference.
English

@TheLastFullback @PaulSimmonsHU @Harding_FB @D2Football @WingOffNetwork @FilmHistoric @D1_Rejects @NCAADII @KChism_ @MichaelGragg Ok, defensive guys, someone tell me why why we are running a 3/4 man front with a single backer 6 yards off the ball vs veer
allowing the QB time to read and for easy down blocks and yards before initial contact with ball carrier. I see the 2 LBs in 9w but man they are WIDE

Every play from Harding’s (DII) 17 play, 99 yard opening TD drive against Pitt. State.
Round 2 of the DII Playoffs.

I don’t see how people look at the Flexbone, and not appreciate the poetry on display

PJ leaves GT. Geoff Collins mocks the flexbone. The Citadel beats GT running the flexbone 3rd game of the season

@missyMmcbeth Yes, but probably not in the way you’re thinking. The Conjugate Method uses a method of rotating exercises to “max out” on a weekly basis. But the exercises rotate weekly so to avoid accommodation and overworking the same exact motor pattern. This is called the Max Effort Method
