We FEED THE CATS and we play with 2 TEs on almost every snap... There is so much misinformation out there that Feed the Cats (Sprint-Based) 🏈 teams only train and emphasize speed. We have two SBF Clinics coming up in Texas and Georgia that can help ⤵️ store.simplifaster.com/product/sprint…

@CoachRGarner I think of this quote often when planning our training and building our mindset. This came from the Glazier clinic last year when Coach Floyd was presenting.

Great description of the mission mindset. (Burn your goals, go on a mission, surrender to the result.) Just substitute “mission” for “dream”. “Winning the gold medal is my goal, not my dream. My dream is about playing to win as often as possible with and against the best women basketball players in the world. Winning the gold medal as a goal gives me some direction, but my dream is something I need to live every day. And I’m doing that each time I play to win… When I’m playing to win, that’s when I feel resonance. If I win, that’s great. I want to win, and having the gold medal as my goal forces me to play to win. But what I love to do, what my dream is, is to play to win.” ~Dawn Staley (Credit: Brain Food; Shane Parrish)

Interesting: The Packers moved the ball 57 yards on 8 plays on their first drive. Lions defensive star Aidan Hutchinson left the game for two plays, getting some much-needed recovery. He returned for play #11. Traditional HS coaches want to play their key players every play. To do so, they mindlessly “condition” them to have the stamina to play every play, not realizing they are DETRAINING speed and explosiveness. It’s better to have maximal outputs for 80% of the game than 60% outputs for the entire game. Pitchers are a good case in point. Better to throw 100 mph for five innings, than to throw 80 mph for 9 innings. High Outputs > Endurance

Dear young athletes- keep this photo saved to your phone and show the next person who says you have to focus on one sport in HS. The amount of kids I’ve heard say “I can’t risk getting hurt” or “my coach won’t let me” drives me crazy. You get one shot to be a HS athlete. @YouthInc

🚨LISTEN🚨 If someone says “track and field isn’t a sport” or “track requires no skill”… 9 out of 10 times they tried it once and got humbled. They got smoked in the 100m or couldn’t jump like they thought. The sport requires skill… You just don’t have it 🤷🏿‍♂️

Youth sports are out of control. I was the 9th overall pick in the MLB Draft. I played professionally for more than 10 years. Here is how I am navigating youth sports as a parent to four kids:

Justin had an outstanding senior season! Justin made plays and rarely had the luxury of being solo blocked, freeing up his teammates to make plays as well. On both sides of the ball he was a dominant force. Looking forward to seeing how the next chapter unfolds! @AthleticsPTHS

Probably the biggest play of last night’s 28-27 Pequannock victory over Madison was this 29 yard reception by @AngeloC_21 that put the ball at the Madison 3 in the waning moments of regulation in the N1,G2 playoffs. A clutch play to help send the game to OT.
