MASSIVE news: Iran's global web of paid terror has come to Canada. Attacks on the U.S. embassy & on a CDN synagogue orchestrated by the same agent of Iran who organized the UK stabbing attack. CDN coverage so far? A US wire story. CBC has yet to mention.theglobeandmail.com/world/article-…

Add another one to the list of tech companies bailing on Canada because of the Liberal’s bill C-22.
Mysk 🇨🇦🇩🇪@mysk_co

Bill C-22 would impact @psylo_app since Mysk is registered in Canada and we have proxy servers in Canada too. We will not change Psylo’s no-log policy. If bill C-22 passes as is, we would likely have to move out of Canada.

Most Canadians remain deeply concerned and suspicious of the Government of China. No doubt they would be horrified to learn about these secret deals. All the more reason they must be made public. We have to right know how our national police force is colluding with a hostile foreign power.
Allies for a Strong Canada@thealliescanada

As China continues to interfere in Canada, the RCMP refuses to release terms of their secret agreement with Chinese Police. When questioned by MPs about what is in the MOU, Deputy Commissioner Bryan Larkin says the RCMP needs ‘permission’ from China before sharing the details with Canadians. Do you think the Canadian public deserves to know exactly what our government is sharing with the CCP?

I don’t see much issue with Trump’s comment on Taiwan. He essentially declined to answer whether he would defend it against a Chinese invasion, which aligns with U.S. policy of strategic ambiguity. While he did make other concerning statements, such as suggesting Taiwan is far away and defending it is difficult, he made those assumptions based on the belief that China wouldn’t act under his leadership. Trump urged both sides to calm down, but Taiwan’s leadership made it clear they won’t declare independence because Taiwan is already independent under the ROC name. The only concern now is that Trump could potentially delay arm sales to Taiwan, hoping China will buy soybeans, aircraft, and energy. However, I believe these purchases will be temporary and insufficient, as China didn’t even meet the targets in Trump’s first-term deal. As long as the arm sales continue, which is very likely, and the world remains united in opposing any unilateral changes in the Taiwan Strait, peace will prevail.

🚨 Canadians were promised action on foreign interference. Instead, years later, key safeguards are still sitting on the shelf. China was identified as the most active foreign interference threat targeting Canada’s democratic institutions — so why does it feel like lessons from the inquiry are already being ignored? Canadians deserve transparency and accountability.

This is exhibit A in why no one should take geopolitical advice from tech VCs any more than tech VCs should take product, finance, or engineering guidance from national security policy practitioners.

Chamath: Taiwan Loses Its Strategic Importance in 18 Months @chamath: “ We're 18 months from Taiwan not being an important moment of conversation the way it is today. Why 18 months? Because we are at a point where we're probably 1-2 nanometers away from being able to do what we need Taiwan to strategically do for us. And so as we scale up our chip fabs, as we get more capacity, and interestingly, there are these orthogonal technologies being developed. I don't know if you guys saw, but Neuralink was showcasing a machine that is literally operating at the almost nanometer scale to do the brain operations for the implantation, all automatically. When you have the dexterity and the capability mechanically to make these things, the real reason then is a very different one than what it is today. Today, it's economic. And if you take that off the table, I think we'll have a very different attitude to Taiwan.”

Newly released federal documents show China has been using Canada’s Kamloops “mass grave” controversy as a political shield to deflect criticism of its own human rights record, turning a domestic issue into a foreign propaganda talking point. junonews.com/p/china-weapon…

The Liberal agenda is collapsing before our very eyes. While the world’s largest economy shifts back toward energy, manufacturing, and common sense Canada keeps doubling down on carbon taxes, net zero fantasies, and economic self-destruction. The U.S. is building wealth. Canada is regulating itself into decline. At some point Canadians are going to ask a very simple question: Why are we sacrificing our prosperity for policies the rest of the world is already abandoning?
