Here is how Lindsey Graham's seat in the US Senate from South Carolina will be filled: The governor will immediately appoint a temporary replacement until January 3, 2027. Because the vacancy occurred more than 100 days before the November 3 general election, the seat will be filled for the full subsequent term by the winner of that already-scheduled election. A special primary election must be held to select new Republican and Democrat nominees. State law mandates that the filing period for this special primary opens the second Tuesday after the death, with the election occurring the following Tuesday. The appointed interim senator serves only until the general election results are certified. Because South Carolina has open primaries, the DemoKKKrats will get to help select the Republican candidate for the general election. This could result in someone as bad or worse than Lindsey Graham.

Pretty incredible that the Democrat argument has devolved to “yeah, we are awful, but you’re awful to, so you can’t criticize us for being awful.” A far cry from the moral authority they once claimed to have.
