Curious what other poker variants you would play a $100k tournament for? @ikepoker

@moseskagan @redwood_ryan_a You joke but I know a dude whose wife does the same thing for high end race horses and he simply manages their houses. She makes more in a month than he did in an entire year in corporate life. Crazy business.

I’m so proud of my fiancé. She’s 8 weeks into her solo horse veterinarian practice, and this *week* alone she brought in 2.5x her monthly salary at her last job. Her name is going around and all of the top rodeo racers in our area are already using her. So proud.

@hennessytgz Separately, the words “networking” and “cruise” give me the ick; together, they’re an abomination.

😂 I hear ya. Once we turned the fans on again come spring, here comes more confetti falling down lol. It was still worth it but wouldn’t do it again. Cleaners did a good job and didn’t complain about it. Honestly it’s outside that is more annoying. We tell them they can’t and they do it anyway. Even if we charge them it doesn’t make it any better as we still have to pick it all up. Looks terrible for the wedding the next day

Last year on New Year’s Eve we did a $6500 rental fee & $10,997.35 on the bar. Total of 17,497.35 which was by far & still is our best night ever. We knew the bar was going to do a ton and they asked if they could do confetti inside so we allowed it. This was the aftermath 😅

@PrahladFriedman What is your stance on people overall? Do you think the poker community is net negative vs a random sampling of humanity?

The poker community does have some good people, but to try and say it’s largely good people is a joke. Lying about it is too obvious. You just look like a car salesman. “This car is amazing and in perfect condition!!!!”

So if I understand the Airtable story correctly…a company founded 11 years ago and now doing $150M ARR is a failure?

When I lived in Dallas I lived for getaways—those brief escapes when I could live my best life. Now I get kinda grumpy when I have to leave Boulder, even if it’s to go to another amazing place. My best life is here. Two things: 1) Where we live is our most foundational decision because it impacts everything. Your home town is your aquarium and you’re the 🐠. Yet most people live where they live because… that’s where they live. They didn’t choose it. 2) The REAL objective is to *build a life you don’t need to escape*. It takes time and hard work but the first step is simple: Clearly define what your best life looks like. Start with this exercise👇
Kevin Dahlstrom@Camp4

I get a dozen DMs each week asking for advice. The situations are all different but my advice is always the same: 👉Start by defining your ideal end state life. Be specific. Whatever you want in life, you’re unlikely to get it if you don’t *call your shot* by clearly defining the goal. This may seem obvious yet most people go through life with only a vague idea of what they’re building toward. 🙋‍♂️That was me in my 20’s and 30’s. This simple but powerful exercise sheds light on the things you should do—and equally importantly NOT do—today to inch toward your best life. You might even be surprised at what ends up on your list after searching your soul—it’s easy to fall into the trap of chasing what society says you should want instead of what YOU really want. Here’s MY ideal end state. The good news is at 52 I’m pretty much there! Have YOU defined your end state?

@CodyShedd @CraigMarq Reasonable take. I do think that if the mutual agreement vote is public, that puts some pretty intense peer pressure on the biological female athletes.

pretty big controversy in the Jiu Jitsu world right now... at a tournament i entered last weekend, there was a transgender woman competing. her opponent in the absolute (no weight limit) finals, who was outweighed by 65lbs+, showed incredible grappling skill and sportsmanship: instagram.com/p/CxBuKCvP1yE/ now the organization (NAGA) is scrambling to put together a transgender athlete policy in place: nagafighter.com/naga-transgend… other combat sport promotions are watching closely i'm sure. the only one that's spoken out as far as i've seen is @ADCC_Federation (basically the Olympics of grappling), which requires athletes to compete in the division of their sex at birth. are there any other sports leagues that have taken this "mutual agreement" approach NAGA is pursuing? it's nice that they are tackling the issue head on, but it feels to me like it's shrugging a lot of the responsibility off of the organization and onto the athletes. i'm curious if the mutual agreement survey is done publicly or privately with the biological female athletes.

If you’re curious about whether you have something of value to offer to the marketplace, why not start an anonymous X account and share what you know? Maybe no one will care. Or, maybe you’ll end up like me, @realEstateTrent, @GuyDealership or many others. Are you next?

@GregShahade @RandyBauer should resign. A)this is a disgusting way to conduct yourself when facing very legitimate criticism and B) not taking allegations like this seriously is just overall appalling. Let's hope Alejandro has not been able to victimize anyone else due to USChess's enabling
