@RealMNchiefsfan Happy Birthday Isabelle! Wishing you the best from Bowling Green, KY!

@MattConnerAA Demercado is on the roster. He is the only third down back they have. Smith isn't that guy, and the interviews after they drafted Johnson all said he needed improvement in pass pro. Smith and Johnson are fighting for RB3. Hunt is a practice squad guy, maybe.
English

It's Smith v Demercado for me for a roster spot.
Price Carter@priceacarter
I would rather use the final spot in the running back room on Kareem Hunt than the idea of Brashard Smith...

@ArrowheadAddict Jennings seems like he might be a bit costly for uncertain production. And Tyreek is just coming off of another surgery isn't he? Fine if they'd gotten a 1st or 2nd round WR, but they got yet another undersized slot guy in the 5th. All improvement is coming from new coaches.
English

@Arrowhead_Adam Another undersized slot guy feels more like a bad habit they can't break than a legit dart throw
English

@Arrowhead_Adam If they don't then there won't be an edge worth taking, as he and young don't make it through the first 3 or 4 picks or round 2.
English

@SportsRadio810 If Washington was gonna take him, great! That left more players of higher caliber (Downs & Styles) or positions of need (Bain). Giving a third and the best 5th is just nuts.
English

@LyleGraversen Totally agree. As of now, KC's D will be maybe as good as it was last year. Which ain't good. Guessing they thought the drop off at edge much less than CB?
English

@jbbrisco @chiefs_kcsn So they looked at the defense last year and said "this is fine"?! Now they HAVE to get an edge at 29. Oh, and have less ammo to get that person. What a nonsensical and terrible move.
English

In a draft day stunner, the Chiefs have traded up to select LSU CB Mansoor Delane.

@MoonKingReid Trade unneeded. Cost too high. Position not nearly the one we need. Coulda had Bain or Styles. . .
English

This makes no sense to me. Why would they trade up for him?
Adam Schefter@AdamSchefter
After trading up to Cleveland’s spot at No. 6, the Kansas City Chiefs selected LSU CB Mansoor Delane.
English

@RealMNchiefsfan This makes 0 sense. Almost certainly there at 9. Cost to move 3 space was too much. Pass rush needed about 10,000x more than a CB. Utterly baffled by this. Did the Raiders sneak in and make this trade and pick!?!?
English

Agreed. The process here is odd to me.
Cody Tapp@codybtapp
This all feels so weird. Trade away an all pro corner to give up three picks to get a corner. He needs to be pro bower immediately
English

@RealMNchiefsfan @Conner_DKC Seth, haven't had a chance to go through the Concepcion review from your blog. How is he at contested catches? I think the thing Mahomes needs the most is somebody he feels comfortable throwing it to while contested down field.
English

@Conner_DKC I think Tyson has the highest ceiling as a receiver, but Concepcion separates nearly as well IMO.
English

@RealMNchiefsfan I don't think it makes sense period. Unless they are getting some great deal to go up that high. They need multiple impact players and should keep higher picks.
English

@priceacarter This feels like cheating. Best option is A) but with either of the other two big name WRs, who'll almost certainly be there at 9.
English

It's time for the FINAL chose your own #Chiefs draft trio:
A) Jordyn Tyson, Zion Young, Brandon Cisse
B) Rueben Bain, Max Iheanchor, Chris Bell
C) Caleb Downs, KC Concepcion, Gabe Jacas
D) Makai Lemon, Keldrick Faulk, Treydan Stukes
English

@RPatrickAllen Not a great OT class, and it feels like working towards status quo instead of improving. Draft an RT high, and maybe return the line to what is was last year. Draft an edge or WR high and get something we didn't have last year. That feels like an improvement.
English

Banger of a thread from Lyle. I understand why folks want to go with other positions early, but I don't understand the hysteria around the idea that they might take a tackle.
Lyle Graversen@LyleGraversen
OT rant incoming. A ton of people keep saying that KC has invested enough in the OL that they shouldn't spend a high pick on an OT, but I can't fathom a world where the Chiefs are content at OT going forward. They didn't like Moore enough to bench Taylor for him. (cont)
English

@hbtCHIEFS I'd trade down if possible, and take Delane if not. Tyson feels too big a risk at 9, and Lemon seems like his ceiling would keep him outside the top 10.
English

Based on how the board fell here, what would you have wanted the Chiefs to do?
