@stphnmaher Because it comes from a position of punching down, and that’s how you get people who are on the fence with respect to this issue to jump onto the separatist side, even if it is just to send a message. Belittling disgruntled Albertans is not the way forward here.

Is there some reason why everyone should pretend their plan is not stupid? They are a minority with a stupid idea and it is necessary to say that. Their illusions are not everyone else’s problem.

I’m miss the NDP. Quality healthcare, education, drivable roads, a pipeline (meh). Now we have corruption, foreign interference, personal data theft, referendums passed before a committee debate, UCP licking the boots of a pedophile and 9.4 billion in deficits. Wake up Berta!

Macdonald literally built Canada — Confederation, coast-to-coast expansion, the railway, and the National Policy. Served 19 years as PM and held a fragile new country together. Trudeau inherited a strong nation and ran per capita growth, debt, and productivity into the ground while dividing people. So not even close. Learn some history. I assure you you’ll find Canadas history interesting.

I can’t believe the CBC did something like this. Using taxpayer money to mislead, deceive and outright lie to ordinary Canadians, including retired RCMP veterans, to trick them into taking part in some sort of twisted political propaganda film. Fake documentaries that slander Canadian history, defame Canadian institutions like the RCMP and smear the reputation of our first Prime Minister, Sir John A. Macdonald. Spending who knows how much of your money to set up an elaborate ruse (including fake websites, fake companies and fake identities) while engaging American actors and producers to insult Canada’s past. Will the Liberal Minister responsible for the CBC own up to this decision and defend it? Or will someone at the CBC finally be held accountable?
