@SenWarren@USPS Any department that loses billions, should have a come-to-Jesus meeting. I think a sale is probably a negotiating tool (he likes those), but a total overhaul is called for. There are probably other govt departments in the same position. DOGE is needed for all.
I’ve got news for Donald Trump: @USPS isn’t for sale.
It’s a public good that’s supposed to serve Americans in every corner of the country — not boost some billionaire’s bottom line.
it’s funny because people gave Don Jr shit during 2016 to 2020
and yah, maybe he was lacing his gums with coke during the SpaceX launch
but ffs Hunter Biden is a much bigger shitshow in every way and Joe has debased and embarrassed himself further by pardoning him after repeatedly saying he wouldn’t
all these mf’ers are corrupt and they all think they are better than you and can do whatever they want
it is what it is
I have to do 1 last political rant after Joe Biden pardoned Hunter Biden. I never want to hear Democrats lecture Americans about having the moral high ground ever again.
The use of pardon power wasn't the issue. It's everything that came beforehand.
If Democrats didn't run openly under the banner of Trump being a criminal and a threat and attempted to separate themselves out from that criminality as part of a long term campaign strategy, this would be an argument.
The problem is they spent years arguing themselves as the exception while doing otherwise.
- They forced Al Franken to step down to show "We are different." Meanwhile only Republicans are arguing for the release of Epstein's list and the issue has been ignored by the Biden Admin.
- They openly condemned Sheriffs and localities for refusing to enforce gun laws while they refused to enforce immigration laws in sanctuary cities.
- They openly argued that the legal process must be followed. Then when the Supreme Court blocked Biden's debt forgiveness scheme, Biden said "We're still going to do it. We disagree with the court."
- They openly argued that Trump was a warmonger who was going to start WW3. Meanwhile, Biden nearly triggers a nuclear incident with Russia while Trump signed peace agreements between Israel and its neighbors.
- They argued that Trump's family was using the presidency to make money but they wrote off Hunter Biden having business connections with people based on his father's name and promises of meeting his father.
- They openly argued that Trump's family was covering up criminal activity. Meanwhile Biden had the intelligence community suppress the laptop story when they knew full well the laptop existed and it wasn't Russian propaganda.
- They openly accuse Republicans of being election deniers but then they do the exact same election denial conspiracies when they lose a major election. (reddit.com/r/somethingisw…)
Trump doesn't walk around pretending he isn't Trump. Trump supporters don't walk around pretending Trump isn't Trump.
You've brought these issues up to Trump supporters in past debates. They 100% know who Trump is and they don't care.
The difference is Democrats seem to think they are an exception because they're doing the same things "for the right reasons" as though that's how rules work.
UPHOLDING NORMS is like engaging in CONSENSUAL SEX. If BOTH people do it, it's good, if only ONE person does it, it's rape. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CONSENTUAL SEX WITH ONLY ONE PERSON CONSENTING, much like THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS UPHOLDING NORMS IF ONLY ONE SIDE DOES IT.
The ONLY time a MAGAt ever considers morality is when he's analyzing a Democrat's behavior.
------
A more serious/sober take on the Hunter Biden pardon -
"Norms" exist because, if both sides play by them, they guarantee some minimum level of decorum or behavior that allows both sides to function on a more sophisticated level, allowing for more opportunity and better outcomes for everyone involved.
e.g.: if everyone on the block agrees not to steal from each other, people can leave their houses during the day to go do more productive work, rather than sitting at home, guarding their possessions all night.
Trump pardoned some people convicted of literally the exact same crimes that Hunter was convicted of (see: Kodak Black, convicted of possession of drugs + firearms - rollingstone.com/music/music-ne…).
Trump pardoned people close to him due to family relations, like Charles Kushner, who also were convicted of tax evasion (see: apnews.com/article/donald…).
And, at his absolute worst, Trump pardoned people who lied in order to cover up his crimes, people who were literally convicted for obstructing investigations to cover for Trump, like Roger Stone (see: nytimes.com/2020/07/10/us/…).
Some people are saying "now Republicans are going to do whatever they want!" Excuse me? What WEREN'T they doing before???
Some people are saying "now the Democrats have no moral ground to stand on!" Excuse me? Because the president used his Pardon power? The Hunter pardon isn't even REMOTELY in the same ballpark as the three listed above.
Republicans are amoral, do not ever play into their framework of trying to argue for some "return to normalcy" or argue about "abuse of presidential power," it is a joke to them, and they don't believe in it.
Kamala has managed to turn her lack of firm political positions into an asset rather than a liability. i don't know how much longer that can hold, but for now, it's working (to be clear, i'm not saying that i like it)
Trump goes to NABJ and basically goes on a tirade saying Kamala isn't actually black. i think stuff like that isn't going to play well from this point on
what focus do you see Kamala putting on identity politics in excess of what Trump has been focused on?
overall, he seems off his game compared to last time and isn't winning the news cycles anymore
@SoFiSupport I haven't gotten my new credit card that i originally ordered in March. I've requested a new card 4 times already and your support is no help. one person even disconnected immediately with no explanation.
Public founders and projects should actively trash meme coins, not celebrate them. They make us seem like idiots. It’s not how we get mass adoption. It’s how whiny, entitled kids in bull markets get rich and then call your legitimate project a scam when the bear happens.
@Armyvet74@JesseCoffey15@consequence so when Trump wins the election and they update the lyrics to call out Biden, you'll still be whining about it, right?
Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong altered the lyrics in “American Idiot” to sing, “I’m not a part of the MAGA agenda,” during the band’s performance on Ryan Seacrest’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.
