@gautamgandhi44 @Chopsyturvey @THEEURASIATIMES Btw I am not the only one to point out the real reason why IAF might have no choice to order more downgraded 1As

@gautamgandhi44 @Chopsyturvey @THEEURASIATIMES Not because 1A is meeting the ASR requirements or would be anywhere close to the performance and capabilities needed in this decades. It's just all IAF can hope for at this point.

NEW: #Ukrainian military officers offered notably frank and direct commentary about the prospects of further Ukrainian advances in western #Zaporizhia Oblast and indicated that the series of prepared #Russian defensive positions immediately ahead and further south of the Ukrainian advance may be less challenging to Ukrainian forces. @FighterPiloting @Chopsyturvey "Don't know if anyone offers this"
Just look at what armed trainers, let alone JF17 or Gripen C offers and you will see the realities.
English

@Chopsyturvey sir, the Indian payloads mix is good for international customers with varied requirements. Don't know if anyone offers this. A screengrab from a seminar presentation attached.

@SmestarZ @Kunal_Biswas707 New or 2nd hand, it doesn't solve the problem. We need smaller and more cost-effective aircrafts to make transport operations more efficient.
English

@DFI_Sancho @Kunal_Biswas707 It is strange when USA was closing the production of C-17, IAF took one, but then they wanted atleast 30 more.
Can we ask/buy 2nd hand C-17 from USA ?

China has deployed S-300 copy (HQ-9) at Ngari Kunsa airbase which is only ~85km from the Indian border, here is the radar coverage mapping.
Red- High-flying drones > 30k ft
Orange- Possible fighter jets~ 16k ft
Green- Low-flying kamikaze drones~ 100 ft

English

@SmestarZ @Kunal_Biswas707 C17 - strategic in limited numbers
A400 class - tactical and strategic
C130 - special ops
C295 - logistics
Would be a much more efficient and cost-effective fleet mix, than being dependent on heavy liftes for small load transports within and around India.
English

@SmestarZ @Kunal_Biswas707 Our priority is a suitable cargo hold size, not super heavy loads and that's why aircraft below the heavy lifters with large cargo holds suits us better.
MTA, A400, C2, the new KAI transport aircraft, with the KC390 only on the lower end with it's cargo hold capacity.
English

@StochResonance @JonA2i Lol we were talking about French AF operations under NATO, not IAF or India but it's evident now that you have no clue.
English

More compelling is the combination of Astra Mk1/2 and the Uttam on just the Mk1A. The Mk2 is leagues ahead of this Scandinavian cr*p
Aerospace Analysis@JonA2i
ES-05 Raven gives Gripen E a significant edge over Rafale in the BVR arena - bigger antenna, more power and crucially, a repositioner. The combination of Raven and Meteor is compelling. Rafale naturally enjoys advantages in other areas.
English

@StochResonance @JonA2i so distance is not the issue and there needs to be another reason to carry that many tanks.
English

@StochResonance @JonA2i And this is not the first instance either, we have seen in many times before, just that the Rafale in Syria or Libyia was operated from bases further away. In this case, they are operating from Lithuanian bases and scramble in interception roles with a single tank too...
