@Baierworks I still like Kuja a lot. If just because... (spoilers) . . . . . ...he technically succeeds in killing the party during the final battle.

Final Fantasy - the Peak Villain Trilogy It always amused me that Final Fantasy's three best villains were all from three consecutive games in the series. Exdeath from V, Kefka from VI, and Sephiroth from VII. Being in a bit of a FF mood lately, I was compelled to make this tribute to the apex of antagonism.

“And he’s so cowardly and blubbering and pathetic, as are most strong men when you remove their power and they’re and they’re faced with their imminent death, they rarely handle it bravely.” This quote alone proves to you that Kripke is a Revenge of the Nerds type coward and weakling. This single sentence says so much about this man. He thinks “strength” means “power,” and thus rationalizes his own weakness as merely an absence of real power, acquisition of which would be a major sin. He believes his weakness is a virtue. This is absolutely typical of Hollywood writer types. This is why they write stories featuring jocks as low IQ meatheads, when in reality most of the great men of history were both athletes and intellectuals (Plato and Nixon as two great examples millennia apart). They misunderstand “blessed are the meek” as “blessed are the weak.” People like Kripke cannot believe in real strength and real courage because *they* could never feel it. He can’t even imagine it. All those strong and brave men are, secretly, just as chicken shit as he is. The only thing separating Kripke and Audie Murphy is that Audie Murphy had power—or something like that. I don’t care about this show, never have watched a single episode, and have never understood the appeal. But everything I have seen and heard of the showrunner leads me to believe without any doubt that he is the most dangerous kind of person—an utterly weak and cowardly man that cannot even imagine being a stronger and braver one. Be very wary of weak men.
Emir Han@RealEmirHan

In The Boys finale, Homelander had to look powerless according to Eric Kripke “Yeah, it was really important to us for Homelander to at least experience a little bit of time powerless.” “People have asked me, ‘Well, why don’t you send him out in the world powerless, wouldn’t that be the ultimate punishment?’ “I’m like, it would, until he gets his hands on some more Compound V, and then you’re back to where you started.” “So, he cannot walk out of that room alive, but we can spend time with him powerless to really reveal what everyone’s been saying all season, which is, ‘Take away those powers and you are nothing.’ “And he’s so cowardly and blubbering and pathetic, as are most strong men when you remove their power and they’re and they’re faced with their imminent death, they rarely handle it bravely.”

Wow that was some of the worst garbage I've ever seen Astonishingly lazy. It might be a perfect case study for the mind of the spiteful mutant turbolib I'm reminded of the King of France during the French Revolution: "Louis spent his last night calmly in the Temple prison. He awoke early, heard Mass, and received communion from his Irish confessor, Abbé Henry Essex Edgeworth de Firmont. He wrote his last will and testament and entrusted personal items (his seal to his son, his wedding ring to Marie Antoinette) to the priest. On the advice of his confessor, he avoided a highly emotional final meeting with his wife and children to spare them further suffering. Louis showed remarkable dignity and firmness, which surprised even his executioners. He removed his coat and cravat, had his hair cut, and allowed his hands to be bound with his own handkerchief (after initially resisting rope, persuaded by the priest who reminded him of Christ’s sacrifice). He walked firmly across the scaffold. According to the most detailed contemporary account from Abbé Edgeworth, Louis silenced the drums with his presence and spoke in a loud, clear voice: “I die innocent of all the crimes laid to my charge; I pardon those who have occasioned my death; and I pray to God that the blood you are going to shed may never be visited on France.” As he was being strapped to the plank, he reportedly exclaimed: “My people, I die innocent!” And turning to the executioners: words affirming his innocence and expressing the hope that his blood would “cement the happiness of the French” (according to executioner Charles-Henri Sanson’s own account). -- Eric Kripke and his ilk are children of the French Revolution. They can't stand the idea of nobility or bravery, it disgusts them because it forces them to reflect on their multitude of inadequacies. They must create an imagined world where powerful men are as pathetic as themselves. This is mere wishcasting, dressed up in computer graphics and film. It's just like The Lord of the Flies, wherein the book depicts pathetic chaos ensuing after being removed from civilizing forces. But in reality, the event that inspired the book had the children cooperate and thrive until they were saved. This annoyed the author, so he rewrote reality itself. Wishcasting.

Alright let's sit down and finish The Goys with a bottle of sparkling to celebrate that I brought something beautiful into the world while Eric Kripke destroyed something beautiful

@jamievampslayer @salmonbait04 @deg_nyd @EyedJeff So your argument is that a 5-star steakhouse that had a handful of locations becoming mass-chain McD's slop is good because now that steakhouse reaches a much bigger low-quality consumer base rather than a sustainable but otherwise niche group who appreciated it for what it was.

@salmonbait04 @deg_nyd @EyedJeff Marvel is in one of the best business/cultural impact positions they’ve been for their entire existence. The reason the books are not selling crazy numbers is because the books are print media and print media is down across the entire industry. Any other explanation is a fantasy

@Mommy_Birb @Freefromdespair I'm saying players should just pretend Strive never happened and keep on playing stuff like Xrd in quantities that outperform Strive's "modern audience" numerically.

@Mommy_Birb @Freefromdespair Honestly, the only option other than to abandon ship wholesale is to focus all player attention on pre-Strive, especially on Steam, so that the numerical reality clowns on ArcSys.

(Struggling to) watch Ceci play this fuckass game and I just noticed the main character's headphones are one of the first results when you google "1990s wireless headphones" - which are not ACTUALLY 1990s headphones, but just styled to look like them.

@MAWKVLT @LookAtMyMeat1 All I'm seeing here is you don't actually know what a monopoly is. Steam isn't preventing anyone from being as good as Steam is. If Steam was doing that, the same way as say EA or Activision kill off rival game studios, or Disney devours rival companies, then you'd have a point.

Gabe Newell owns the majority share in Steam. Now, I know Newell somewhat. We've met. We've talked. He's not a close friend by any means. But it is by his will and genius that Steam is the way it is - a triumph of good guy capitalism. A great site for finding games, with cheap prices, frequent sales. Well ... I don't need to praise it here. You guys all know about it. When Newell passes away, it's unclear what will happen with Steam. Doubtless his shares will go to his family. Will they continue his vision? Or will they sell out to one of the many circling sharks who have been trying to buy it for years? What will happen if the sharks DO get their teeth into Steam? I believe that in that case Steam will go to hell in a handbasket. Owned by men in suits who don't give a sh*t about quality or the consumer. Probably it will become a subscription service or worse. If it gets sold to a horror show like Electronic Arts or Disney it'll be a nightmare. The only mitigating feature is that a different service might arise, but it will need to fight the rotting lumbering corpse of Steam to establish itself. I am content that since I am several years older than Gabe, it is plausible that I won't live to see this terrible day. But you might. Gabe Newell, to me, is literally barring the gates to Hell for us all.

@xai @xai How about instead you fix the rate limit lunacy that's been ongoing this past week? $30 for SuperGrok and yet rate limited for 24+ hours after only 20 or so image generations. In what universe do you expect someone to keep paying for that type of poor service?

@PresGeorgie @ErothesN55238 @Han31506417073 Aw, that's cute, you think devs aren't beholden to publishers who payroll them. Wait 'til you find out how many games EA tanked by using their status as publisher to dictate how devs made their games. Or Warner Bros. for that matter.

@humansbeing02 @MyChudLife The sound of 90s brit-pop. Which more or less goes to show the generational and cultural gap. But the point is the song is about rich people pretending to be poor for fun.

@AlwaysWrightDM @LadyGravemaster I'm an idiot because you just invented the most meaningless pedantic caveat ever? Let's be totally real: The ONLY reason to press the blue button is because people like you will get us all killed otherwise, so we all have to lower ourselves to your level to survive. Congrats.

For anyone still confused; If everyone pushes the red button, everyone survives. Done. If anyone pushes the blue button, they're committing suicide unless they can convince at least half of everyone else to also risk suicide in order for none of them to have to actually do it, but they want to, and now get to, brag they were willing to kill themselves & convince a multitude of others to as well, even though there was a perfectly logical, non-suicidal option the entire time that wouldn't have risked any of the population.
󠁧󠁢BeuwenDragon@BeuwenDragon

Blue button pushers are easily manipulated by deceptive wording, selfishly resorting to emotional coercion to manipulate other people into gambling their lives to save them from the consequences of their own choice, all while gaslighting everyone to thinking they are altruistic.
