Although we don’t yet have the details about the motives behind last night's shooting at the White House Correspondents Dinner, it’s incumbent upon all us to reject the idea that violence has any place in our democracy. It’s also a sobering reminder of the courage and sacrifice that U.S. Secret Service Agents show every day. I’m grateful to them – and thankful that the agent who was shot is going to be okay.

Crazy that it’s only been 2 years, seems like a lot longer! The reason I came here was to get news, find people that really love our country and support President Trump. What Do American Politicians Honestly Do for Americans? We elect them, pay their salaries, fund their staffs and pensions, and what exactly do we get in return? American politicians spend most of their time raising money from donors, appearing on cable news, gerrymandering districts to stay in power, and passing bloated spending bills that balloon the national debt past $36 trillion. They create complicated regulations that strangle small businesses while big corporations with lobbyists in D.C. get exemptions. They promise "free" healthcare, college, or housing, then deliver higher taxes, inflation, and waiting lists. They manage foreign policy (sometimes starting or prolonging wars), oversee a massive administrative state that employs millions, and occasionally fund roads, bridges, and the military. But the core functions like protecting borders, maintaining currency stability, enforcing basic laws are often neglected or weaponized. The truth is, we don't need 535 members of Congress plus thousands of staffers micromanaging our lives from Washington. Most problems are best solved locally or privately. Communities can organize schools, charity, and security without federal strings attached. Markets and civil society innovate faster than any bureaucracy. Parents can decide education without D.C. mandates. Businesses thrive with lower taxes and fewer rules. States can experiment as "laboratories of democracy" instead of waiting for one-size-fits-all edicts from elites who rarely shop at Walmart or wait in TSA lines. We the People built this country. Farmers, inventors, entrepreneurs, families, not politicians. The Constitution limits government for a reason. Politicians aren't our rulers; they're supposed to be our employees. It's time to remind them: smaller government, real accountability via term limits, and more power returned to states and individuals. We managed farms, factories, and neighborhoods long before the permanent political class existed. We can do it again. America doesn't need more politicians. It needs citizens who remember self-reliance. Drain the swamp isn't a slogan, it's a necessity. Let's govern ourselves.
