The #KukiCommunity strongly condemns the recent incident that occurred today at Mongkot Chepu, a Kuki village, where members of the #TangkhulCommunity allegedly burned the hills surrounding the village. It is deeply concerning that such acts are said to be carried out with support in the form of weapons and ammunition from the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah). These inhuman actions have created fear and tension among innocent villagers. Burning the hills and threatening the safety of a community does not promote peace or coexistence. Instead, it sends a message of hostility at a time when understanding and dialogue are urgently needed. Such incidents only widen the gap between communities who have lived side by side for generations. The KukiCommunity has consistently expressed its desire for peace and harmony between the KukiCommunity and the Tangkhul community. Despite repeated efforts to maintain calm and avoid confrontation, this latest act is seen as crossing the limit. No community should be forced to remain a silent spectator while its ancestral land and security are under threat.
