So why a palm tree? Because industrial palm monoculture has driven deforestation and land dispossession across Indonesia. But palms are older than plantations - and when left alive, they protect land, water, and people. This project doesn’t erase that contradiction. It holds it.

Over 1,100 people have died in Indonesia's recent floods. More than 570,000 displaced. Over 146,000 homes and public facilities destroyed (BNPB). This wasn’t just extreme rain. It was what happens when forests are removed. Here’s what accountability looks like 👇

Highlights included a simultaneous chess exhibition led by a female Olympic player, 3 HYDRA machines running live, MANDALORIAN for midnight privacy, workshops about MIDNIGHT, Intersect VISION 2030, Txpipe , and 7 technical talks, and the inauguration of the Laboratory of Decentralized Computing and Digital Trust by IO Research , with an academic track on verifiable computation, zkVMs, private verifiable computation and MPC mythbusting. The entire event was designed around a Japanese theme, honoring Cardano’s origins in Japan and the warrior spirit of the builders who completed the IOG-led course and hackathon :Hackathon prizes of 10,000 USD, awarded together with katanas in three categories: black, red, and white 🥷 • Taiko performances, Kendo demonstrations, and a Japanese food experience with Dorayaki (traditional Japanese sweet) and sushi for attendees • Special merch: a Japanese-style mate, symbolizing the cultural bridge between Japan, Argentina, and LATAM We want to thank @IOHK_Charles and @jj_siler for making the inauguration of the Laboratory of Decentralized Computing and Digital Trust at the Summit possible. Amazing news! 🇦🇷 Tomorrow at Input Output Global’s Argentina office (@InputOutputHK), we will welcome our international community to witness the institutional act for the inauguration of the new Decentralized Computing and Digital Trust Center, based at the University of Buenos Aires and its Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences. Among our guests of honor, we are privileged to host the renowned cryptographer and Professor of Computer Science and Engineering Juan Garay from Texas A&M University, an Argentine returning home to take on this new challenge. Juan has collaborated on multiple occasions with Aggelos Kiayias, Chief Scientist at Input Output Global, and Charles Hoskinson (@IOHK_Charles), CEO of Input Output and founder of Cardano. We will also be joined by authorities from the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires, who will share how this collaboration came together, its importance for Argentina’s scientific development and human capital, and how it enables meaningful global contributions. I extend my sincere gratitude to the faculty leadership who made this possible, to Charles for supporting the initiative, to Juan Garay for his participation, to the IOG Research team for the shared vision and to J.J.
