U.S. International Boundary and Water Commission
While in Washington, D.C. last week, Trump USIBWC Commissioner @USIBWCCMcIntosh met with @SenTedCruz to discuss the importance of holding Mexico accountable for its Rio Grande water delivery obligations under the 1944 Water Treaty. These discussions underscore the strong partnerships we continue to build across the Texas border. The #USIBWC is committed to fair water apportionment, addressing transboundary sewage, and ensuring reliable water for American farmers - work that depends on strong partnerships across all levels.

Happy National Ag Day from my family to yours. Agriculture is the lifeblood of West Texas - and our West Texas farm and ranch families set the standard. So much of our nation is blessed by the output of these hardworking men and women who put in the work each day, sunup to sundown, to keep us fed, fueled, and clothed. I am proud to have fought for our farmers and ranchers every step of the way - and, with their backing, I’m eager to continue that fight in Congress. Happy National Ag Day!

#TX28: Today we recognize National Agriculture Day! I’m happy to celebrate the folks in South Texas and across the country who keep America fed, clothed, and fueled. Our farmers, ranchers, and producers rise early and stay until the job’s done. None of it happens without them. If you can, please take a moment to thank a farmer today. Agriculture runs deep in South Texas. It shapes daily life and connects generations through hard work and pride in sustaining our communities. My parents were migrant workers, and I got my start as a greenhand in the Texas Future Farmers of America. I also lived on a ranch and worked the land with my father. I carried those experiences with me while helping shape farm bills when I served on the Agriculture Committee. I’ll never forget the essential contributions of farmworkers, whose dedication keeps this system running every day. I’ll keep working in Congress to strengthen agriculture and ensure the next generation has a fair shot to carry that legacy forward.

Farmers shouldn’t have to wrestle with paperwork just to work with their government. That’s why we launched One Farmer, One File — a major modernization effort that unifies @USDA systems and reduces administrative burdens for producers. In my new op-ed in the Des Moines Register, I explain how we’re building a USDA that works for farmers, not against them! 🌾🇺🇸 Read more below…👇 desmoinesregister.com/story/opinion/…

One of the greatest blessings since taking on this role just over one year ago has been getting to know so many of our career team @USDA. Many of whom have proudly been here for decades (and their parents before them!) To honor their work, I decided to take nominations and launch an “Unsung Hero” award. The best part… to surprise our winners! With Annette James, Branch Chief of Printing Services, as the first recipient! She started working for USDA in High School — 37 years ago!🇺🇸❤️ As I made my way to the basement of our South building and turned the corner, she burst into tears. She had never met any of her Secretaries, and certainly none had ever come down to the print shop. Meeting her and her team was such a highlight. And later, we had a wonderful lunch at the White House to celebrate! For her entire career spanning three decades, Annette has served the Department — and our nation — with extraordinary dedication, unmatched professionalism, and quiet grace. She has built an exemplary team that delivers professional documents, posters, exhibits, and other materials that carry the USDA name, all delivered flawlessly, on time, and with the highest standards of excellence. A working mom of three, her children grew up watching her advance her career at USDA. This Department thrives because of dedicated career professionals like Annette: the unsung heroes whose integrity, consistency, and behind-the-scenes excellence keep America’s agricultural mission moving forward every single day. Annette, on behalf of USDA, our farmers, ranchers, foresters, and all who depend on this vital work — thank you for your nearly 40 years of selfless service to the American people. You embody what makes USDA great, and this recognition is long overdue!

Washington elites just spent over a million dollars to put a scandal-plagued celebrity on the ballot. South Texas isn't a stop on a comeback tour. It's my home. It's where I'm raising my kids. And after years of being ignored, we finally have a seat at the table. I'm not letting anyone take that away.

Routine Water Release Notice for Amistad Dam: The #USIBWC will conduct a controlled water release from #AmistadDam beginning early Sunday, March 1, 2026. These releases help sustain #SouthTexas communities, including municipal users and #AmericanFarmers along the #RioGrande. During this controlled release, the Rio Grande downstream will rise quickly and water levels may change without warning. These changes are a normal part of dam operations during this event, but they can create rapidly shifting river conditions. We encourage everyone near the river to stay aware of changing conditions and take any precautions needed to stay safe. @FEMARegion6 @CBPSouthTexas @USACEHQ @TDEM @TxDPSSouth
