@domdyer70 When its hot I wont even play catch in the garden with the dogs, unless its early morning or they will have to waits until the evening when its much cooler. I will be begged and cried at by one of them because she just loves to play all day long and has no limit

PIP provides vital support for Disabled people to live their lives with dignity in ways most people would take for granted. Yet I know both from talking to Torbay residents and as Liberal Democrat DWP spokesperson how engaging with DWP around PIP can be a deeply distressing, difficult experience. If you have experience of PIP, please submit evidence to the Timms Review, as the deadline is fast-approaching on 28th May. You can email the government directly timmsreview.callforevidence@dwp.gov.uk (including to receive alternative formats). Disability Rights UK, Toynbee Hall, and the Commission on Social Security have created a co-designed survey to both contribute to the review, and help form their response when the review is published. Print, Easy Read, BSL, and online versions of the survey can all be found on this page: disabilityrightsuk.org/pip-survey If you miss the official deadline as a Torbay constituent please get in touch with me directly at steve.darling.mp@parliament.uk

‘GPs will no longer issue "sick notes" under a government trial. People will be directed to social prescribers instead. This is peak neoliberal governance: a structural refusal to allow people to be ill, rest, or temporarily step outside a certain model of productivity.

To be honest, I don't think I could really countenance it. The alarm for me started with the almost immediate announcement of the scrapping of the Winter Fuel Allowance. That was the first signal of the new direction. Of course there was then the attacks on welfare, which I rely on. We've been fortunate in the backbenchers rebelling on that, I was up in London in the baking sun (not pleasant when you've got MS!) on countless occasions pleading in demonstrations for that being cancelled. Then came the almost "Red Tory" attacks on the weak and vulnerable and continued announcements that Labour was for "working people", and crackdowns on fraud, despite the DWPs own figures showing only a 0.4% rate of fraud. The endless u-turns, the lack of focus and direction, all have left me feeling dispirited & betrayed. Has Starmer achieved good things? Yes. I've been glad to see things like breakfast clubs, and his handling of foreign affairs in parts - though his inability to recognise genocide in Palestine, and tacit support of Netanyahu sticks in my craw. I'm despondent. Can Labour win me back? It's unlikely, the rot seems too deep. Even changing out leadership, switching in someone like Andy Burnham (as tricky as that may be) would cause the uncertainty of direction to remain. Trust is a valuable thing that's earned, and I just don't have it anymore. I'm not one of those who thinks all politicians are the same - my local MP, Beccy Cooper is marvellous and has stood against the punishing changes that Starmer tried to introduce. The only way I could possibly vote Labour again would be tactically, to prevent Reform getting in, and even then it'd leave a very bad taste in the mouth. To think I campaigned with both Starmer and Reeves themselves leaves me feeling almost grubby. I recall asking them both whether, after 14 years of Tory punishment, he'd stand up for we disabled, the answer was on both occasions a resounding yes. And as I say, me and countless others were then immediately betrayed Ps. Sorry for the essay!

@Poppy_yyyyyyyy Nothing surprises me, I have lupus, but after a formal complaint about a DR, I was labelled as an addict to steroids and had all treatments stopped, but they offering me opoids I can't take, then said I refused help. I am in the process of a medical negligence case.

I’ve spent the day enjoying the services of our wonderful NHS, just to be hung up on by a receptionist who relished in telling me they wouldn’t prescribe the medication they’ve given me regularly for several years. This was after an appointment with a medical student (I was told it would be a GP) that was an hour later than the time I was told to be there and he wanted me to stay there for an indefinite time to see an actual GP face to face. I ended up crying tears of frustration so they told me to phone the Samaritans. I don’t want to phone the Samaritans, I just want my very easily prescribed medication.

@TheHillFool Some are nice, I have also dealt with some horrible prick in the past that slapped us with sanctions in the lockdowns after I was made jobless, leading to me having to sell my car and tools for next to nothing to pay rent bills and shopping and getting help form @PoppyLegion

What do work coaches even do at the jobcentre? Every one I've spoken to is not helping me get to a stable situation where I could eventually consider some form of part-time work. They are hostile, evasive and seem to only act as DWP gatekeepers. They literally sound like AI bots

@DannyLee1980 @Nettynoodle3 @suffolkcc This constant attitude that we should put ourselves out more than a non-disabled person & than we have the ability to achieve is the most blatant proof of the negative impact of the current scapegoating of disabled people. What you were told would also be illegal.

After last night I'm feeling rather blue. Been appearing at the Blue Badge Access Awards for many years now but are things getting better? Are disabled people more welcome in society? Can we choose to live as we want?

@Nettynoodle3 @MikScarlet The @suffolkcc told me I should get my partner to warm the car in the winter and park away from the home if their is no space, then said my partner who has her own isses and works 5 days a week, should be fetching the car for me, I can't see how she would manage this from work.

All I know is at the break one of the lovely glamorous young guests had to leave because she had to get back to her care home. Her CARE HOME!?!? What is going on? Once she would have been living in her own adapted home using the ILF to pay for care she chose, living as she wanted
