@afneil Cheer up snowflake. First world problems. No one cares about your gold status. They can’t afford to turn the heating on.

Sure. It won’t make any difference. I don’t have the time to make up for your inadequacies. You have launched a fatwa on your loyal high paying customers for reasons best known to yourselves. I will have done six first class returns to NYC in the past year plus first class return to Sydney and numerous Nice-London business class. Yet I still won’t be able to renew my GGL Group O status. If I don’t qualify who does? No matter. I have gold for life which means I can always use your lounges. But instead of always travelling BA I will look for better more convenient deals with other airlines eg Nice to NYC direct, forget BA out of London. Why you would treat someone like me like that baffles common sense. But BA, not me, will be the loser, especially if I decide to broadcast my experience to my 1.2m X followers and on Times Radio and Mail columns. At the moment you’re a case study in an historic British brand gone badly long. I might make it my business to explain and expose why. You’re interesting as a business case study in stupidity. @britishairways

Astonishingly inadequate chatbot style response, @British_Airways which underlines everything Andrew says. I avoid your airline like the plague. Invariably late; landing slots miles from terminals; staff shortages; shabby uniforms; terrible food if any at all; zero glamour…no thanks!

The new BA tier points structure sets impossible hurdles even for frequent flyers regularly using business or first. I have always planned my extensive and expensive global travel through London to use BA. These days are over. I will now use whatever airline is most convenient and competitive. It will make travel planning easier. I can make more use of other airlines whose business and first seats are far superior to BA. Hello Emirates, Qatar, Singapore, Etihad etc. I have BA gold for life so it no longer matters how much I use BA. I also have Group 0 status which is meant to allow priority boarding. But, like yesterday in Nice they could not even be bothered to call it. Same in London for plane to NYC. BA can’t even organise an orderly queue at the gate these days , something you’d think would come naturally to a British airline given the Brit propensity to queue. BA now run by numpties who put no value on long-standing, big-spending loyal customers, of which I’ve been one for 55 years!! They can’t even get the little things right. I flew London-NYC yesterday in First. WiFi meant to be free and I needed it for work. But free wifi didn’t work. So I had to pay for it. The lovely crew embarrassed by the poor service. I remember when my friend John King was the boss how proud the crews were to work for BA. Long gone. Crews are ashamed. No idea who runs BA these days. But he/she clearly useless. They’ve inherited the dead hand and cheapskate service of Willie Walsh, whose inability to determine what quality service meant began the long-running decline. He really was useless. Crew moral is very low as a result. Passengers see it. Good crew people, badly led. They lost any pride on working for what was once ‘the world’s favourite airline’ — then a matter of pride for staff and country and passengers. Now BA is just another middling airline over charging over the odds for a level of service barely above the cheaper budget airlines. A business model with suicide written all over it. @British_Airways

@CarlMcculloch79 Hi Carl. We understand why you're unhappy with the changes to the British Airways Club, but we are sorry to hear you will be flying elsewhere in future. Neil

Why should I have to pay for some migrant to get a free house when I can’t afford to move out Why should I have to pay for primarily Pakistani or Bangladeshi families to have 6 kids and not work, when I can’t afford one Why should I have to pay for someone with ADHD to get a free BMW they don’t need, when I can’t afford a car Why is it right that for the majority of young people, we have to go to work - to pay for others who don’t work, to live a better life than what we can afford The system is broken We need to bring back fairness.

Most Brits work 35 hours or more Most Brits do not have gold plated pensions Most Brits earn less than £50k Yet tube drivers are striking because they want to do less work for more pay. There’s only one word to describe that - greed

@TuckerCNews No. It’s absolute nonsense. He has no clue what Britain is like. It’s nothing like the right wing hate tweets he amplifies. He should get in one of his rockets and fuck off to mars and do us all a favour.

Amazing to think the British people mostly have no idea we are on the cusp of one of the worst financial crises in our history. The media, majority left leaning, will cover for its cretinous Labour mates unto the crack of Doom. Predictions: this is the last Labour government.

@TalkingTHFC What do people expect him to say? I want players here that don’t want to be here. Stupid fans lap this nonsense up. He wanted Eze and he’s been hung out to dry like every manager before him. And like most of them except Conte he’s towing the party line.

Thank you so much to all those who understood my sadness at seeing a little boy not being engaged with by his parents in a lovely place, on a sunny Saturday. They grow up so fast, we have so few chances to guide them and screens can be so damaging. Talking to kids is everything.

Shall we just take a little chill pill here and see what’s *actually* going on… The EU have introduced new safety regulations calling for certain devices and technologies to be pre-installed in new cars Britain were involved in drawing these regulations up before Brexit 1/🧵

To be crystal clear - if the UK implements a wealth tax I am leaving. It is completely unmanageable as an entrepreneur to pay tax on unrealised gains. Any entrepreneur trying to raise money on an equity valuation puts themselves and their investors in danger of a massive tax bill based on the theoretical/unrealised value of the business. It also tips the risk-to-reward ratio of building a business in the UK out of kilter. It makes the prospect of building wealth in the UK so much worse than anywhere else. Leaving the UK is not hard for a digital business. It will be harder to find the right house and school than to move my business abroad. If I leave, the amount of tax I pay in the UK will drop to zero. Once I move, it's unlikely I'd be back for a long time - so all future earnings, spending, employment and capital gains would be out of the UK.

I asked the Prime Minister a question that a number of people had raised with me: ‘Given the Prime Minister’s desire to strengthen strategic alignment with our European neighbours, will he — in the interest of public safety — follow the lead of France, Denmark, Belgium and others and ban the burqa?'

I don’t have a theory. I am just being a reporter. There is a huge missing piece to the LA story. If I were covering it I would a/ check what’s going on in the shelters and b/ call the coroners’ offices and c/ call the schools. Is anyone missing? Part of my persistent concern is knowing how many children vanished after Lahaina. By now in a typical crisis also people post ‘Missing’ signs or posts and I am not seeing any. I think info suppression of various kinds is taking place.
David@D2024x

@naomirwolf So what happened to all the people? They just vanished? Burned in their house? I'm curious what your theory is?

Germany extends temporary controls to all of its land borders to crack down on illegal migration for six months, starting next week. The country is part of the visa-free Schengen area but has imposed restrictions on its border with Austria since 2015 and with Czech Republic, Poland and Switzerland since last year.
