@ScarcityMan Well it's still scarce, has proof of work, and is decentralized right? You can still transact anywhere in the world with very limited fees. You think those aspects lose all value because of data storage concerns?

ScarcityMan 🚀 BIP-110
ScarcityMan 🚀 BIP-110@ScarcityMan·
First and foremost BIP-110 reasserts the designed purpose of bitcoin as money by enforcing data limits at the consensus level in its one and only designated place to store arbitrary, non-monetary data in transactions to its cultural and historical policy default levels. Everything else is secondary. Not doing this allows the culture to continue to slip (past the point of no return in my estimation) to bitcoin being the "whatever I woke up today and decided it should be network" which I believe is inherently valueless and open to capture.

Feels like you haven't been listening or understanding the debate, or maybe you're captured too. This isn't difficult: BIP-110 stops official arbitrary data storage. Anything else is a lie. Bitcoin, only has ONE place for official arbitrary data storage in transactions, called OP_RETURN. Restrict that, and you restrict the official ability to store porn on bitcoin. Ramming it in somewhere else with steganographic attacks or via code exploits, are NOT supported uses of bitcoin and are therefore subject to fixes later. We stop OFFICIAL exploits now, and then work on the rest, iteratively. Which part of this is not clear? I welcome the discussion. Seriously. I'm a BIP-110 supporter. I'm reaching outside of my echo chamber. Prove me wrong.
Lyn Alden@LynAldenContact

@Bongo_King1 I sympathize with those who are concerned about spam on bitcoin, but I’d invite you to look around and see that you’re in an echo chamber that makes a minority fork (which doesn’t solve the issue) feel like the majority.

@ScarcityMan yeah that's why I said "even if that was the original intent." I'm talking about the reality of bitcoin's situation now, not how it was originally envisioned. Articulate how BIP 110/not enacting BIP impacts the value of bitcoin, not just your vision of what bitcoin should be

@JohnStossel @AOC What's the response on unions? Weren't workers being terribly exploited until government intervened? How would the free market have handled it?

.@AOC says billionaires are too rich. But economist Don Boudreaux points out: "billionaires in America are rich because they've made US rich." How? He explains in our full interview.

@ScarcityMan Why is fixing this issue so important to the value of bitcoin? Because it makes it better money? Bitcoin's primary use will probably never be as money even if that was the original intent. And does it not still work as money even without fixing this?

I feel sorry for you if you think the issue is non-existent. You'll probably be blindsided by it one day if you're actually in this space and hold any significant portion of your net worth in bitcoin. You best believe I'd rather spend my days any other way than arguing this stuff on X, but I don't do it because I want to, I do it because it is necessary.

@EricBalchunas @idobitcoin2 Except in basketball you need to have everyone back on defense so it makes that strategy much less effective. That's the difference. Product of the size of the field/court

@idobitcoin2 The other team would obviously have to assign a player to stop them or make a defense that balances that vs scoring. This is how basketball works.

Have they ever tried removing the offsides penalty in soccer? I'm prob gonna get skewered but it seems like that rule holds back the game from being more exciting w more shots on goal, actual goals and creative strategy vs this war of attrition type play. They should try it IMO.

@invisible_hand2 @Mr_Derivatives @saylor No, it's not really a big liability when you are sitting on 51 billion in bitcoin you can use to pay them. Or you can issue more shares. Not to mention the existing cash reserve. Claiming the lady is financially fucked is just stupid

I promise you that if you build your life around sleep, everything you care about will get better. High quality sleep is like a daily dose of the world’s best longevity drug. Sleep is key for... + will power + self control + sex + mood + recovery + focus + appearance + work + life My sleep data last night + 4+ hr restorative + 53% total sleep restorative + resting heart rate 42 (elite athlete) + no sleep stress + no wake events + asleep in 2 min It feels incredible. Gives me the powers of stamina, focus, motivation, discipline and love. For fun, I made a sleep facts nutrition panel. The sleep crash course: 1. Final food 4 hours before bed 2. Screens off 60 min before bed 3. Same bed time every single day 4. Light in eyes in am 5. Exercise daily, even if for 20 min Here’s the key: make these habits non-negotiable in your life. Build your life around sleep and I promise everything you care about will get better.

@sweatystartup I generally don’t leap on technicalities but I’m wondering what that quote repost incentive here is given that deadlifts don’t place any bar on the back. And I disagree. I’m 50 and deadlifts done right are great. & 80+ yo Twyla Tharp deadlifts 200+ at less than 140lbs.

@WarClandestine He doesn’t need to be secretive because they can’t stop it. He doesn’t want to strike because then they have nothing left to lose. So telegraphing is rational.

Axios now reporting that Trump is considering launching new strikes on Iran. Trump’s messaging all week has been hinting at it as well. Trump is seemingly telegraphing that he is about to strike, which is normally not his MO. Misdirection may be afoot. We shall see. He is gearing up for something, that’s for sure.
Axios@axios

NEW: Trump convened a meeting with his senior national security team on the war with Iran this morning. He is seriously considering launching new strikes against Iran barring a last-minute breakthrough in negotiations, sources say. axios.com/2026/05/22/tru…

Guys love the “so if a gorilla and a python got in a fight, who do you think would win?” windup for pretty much any/everything physical …(when they already know their answer). @Brady_H is stirring the pot again!

Strength training is incredibly important. But the reality is it’s nowhere near as “hard” to do as endurance sports. Lumber around the gym. Pick up something heavy. Put it down again. Rest for 3 minutes. Repeat. Leisurely if you ask me.

I quit Dr. Pepper a few weeks ago, to reduce my sugar levels. But the alternatives I've tried (Zevia and Liquid Death) taste terrible. Any real solutions? 😕 (Dr Pepper Diet and Zero have aspartame, which is apparently poison)

Nobody in the "credentialed class" ever thought any American President could get the Strait of Hormuz opened. Dozens tried, yet they all failed: until now. Trump somehow did it. I never thought I'd live to see the day when the Strait of Hormuz was OPEN to movement of oil.
Mehek Cooke🇺🇸@MehekCooke

Every foreign policy genius who spent a decade collecting paychecks to tell us Iran was untouchable just watched a real estate developer from Queens reopen the waterway that moves a third of the world's oil. The credential class should be embarrassed into silence.

So, we are back to where we were three days ago? Did something change in the president's mind, did something happen on the ground to change the conditions of the ceasefire, or was he never serious to begin with? Or maybe all three? How do we form expectations at this point?
