Getting a lot of unmarked ads (I assume they're ads, appearing like regular posts) from accounts I don't follow in my "following" feed, like the one below. Very annoying. Blocking a lot.
Unless it's clearly marked as an ad, I don't want to see posts from accounts I don't follow.

Alright, my sci-fi friends (looking at you, @RedHedgedragon, @DavidRoomeAuth, @MichaelFKane, @TheMiddleborne), I have enjoyed the first two Dune movies as such, and I’ll be there for the third. However, I honestly don’t see myself getting to the books any time soon. The reading and writing stack is just too high at the moment.
So, tell me (without too many spoilers), what are the major differences I’m missing out on? Also, I’ve heard rumors that Herbert wrote Messiah to counter the interpretation many fans were coming up with for the first book, so would love to hear more about that. And, lastly, seeing as how most of my sci-fi knowledge extends to Star Wars, what influences and overlaps do you see there?

Thanks but my novels aren't 'content.' I'm not opposed to using LLMs for secondary and administrative tasks, but I'm not joining the content treadmill.

@MichaelFKane @ImKingGinger Also---you can totally write a book without a typewriter or computer. I did a lot of the brainstorming for my novels with pen and paper and wrote several chapters and important scenes that way as well. Speed of getting words on paper wasn't exactly the constraint.

Every creative person I know that has embraced AI as a tool for their art has produced more content this month than all of last year. A true creative individual sees AI and feels completely empowered. They feel like the entire world has opened up to them. But a lot of self professed creative people, who have been grifting as creatives for decades, are about to be exposed as frauds who and pretenders who only know how to work within the politics of the current system. They will sit down before the greatest tool for creativity the world has ever known and not have a single idea how to use it or what story to tell. Pay attention to what is happening and who rejects the gift, and who embraces it.

This film is just plain appropriation and daylight robbery of West Asian and North African people's language and culture atp considering the cast. If you didn't know who this white lady is, you'd think it's just a photo of an indigenous Algerian woman.
