A message to @YouTubeCreators @TeamYouTube @nealmohan @reneritchie and every YouTuber that suffers from "Inauthentic content". I'm a French comedian and YouTuber with over 12 years on the platform. I run 2 YouTube channels (714K and 350K subs) with more than 400 million views on long-form videos. I create comedy podcasts and gaming content, and I do everything myself: filming, editing, and appearing on camera. Overnight, both channels were demonetized. I made 2 appeal videos — zero views. Every appeal was rejected with the exact same copy-paste automated message. No human support from YouTube. After 12 years and building two big communities, this treatment is unacceptable. This broken system is destroying the lives (literally!) and careers of thousands of genuine, original creators. Please comment, share, and tag YouTube. This needs to stop. Last week, both my channels were demonetized by @TeamYoutube and @YouTubeCreators for "inauthentic content". Never received any explanation. I am a comedian, always wrote my videos by hand (still have my notebooks with all my scripts), always recorded and edited myself my (1/5)

"inauthentic" with no definition, no breakdown, and no appeal path worth using, that's not moderation. That's a platform that has stopped being able to tell the difference between spam and craft. If you care about true creators, original ones, who always made and crafted (4/5)

@AIandDesign Seems dramatic. They just don’t want mass produced slop. They did the same thing with “content farms” years ago. Some talented people are getting caught in the crossfire. It will get sorted out.

Here’s my savage take on YouTube cracking down on AI content. Congrats, haters. You played yourself. Strap in. It’s gonna be a ride. YouTube was never trying to stop AI. It was trying to make sure you couldn’t win with it. That’s the part a lot of people still don’t get. The dream was never “protect human creativity.” The dream was always to push independent creators out, let the public do the moral panic for free, and clear the field for corporations to industrialize the exact same technology at scale. So now here we are. Not just obvious slop getting hit. Not just lazy garbage. People putting in real effort, real taste, real craft, real time — getting demonetized because the scarlet letters are now simply: made with AI. And that was always the endgame. AI video is not going away. It was never going away. You were just never supposed to be the one building a life with it. The corporations want generative AI. They love generative AI. They just don’t want the public using it to become powerful, independent, competitive, or financially free. They want AI in the hands of studios. Platforms. Advertisers. Enterprise. Their partners. Their golden children. Not you. You get the lectures. They get the leverage. You get told your work is fake. They get to mass-produce “acceptable” synthetic content and pipe it straight into every surface you use. So congratulations to every hysterical anti-AI crusader who thought they were fighting the machine. You weren’t fighting the machine. You were clearing its runway. And now the future arrives exactly as predicted: ordinary creators strangled, corporate slop everywhere, and the same people who helped cause it pretending to be shocked.

@gstrompolos Been doing facecam videos for 12 years on YouTube. Always my face, my gameplay, my editing. Launched shorts 5 months ago, with AI but with my face, my scripts, my ideas. Demonetized without warning. Made a video and tried to appeal: never watched the video, automated responses.

I know YT cares deeply about the vitality of the creator community. They will get it right, eventually. After all, this is the next chapter of the creator economy, and the future of IP creation we are talking about.

We checked in with YouTube about the demonetization issues impacting the Gen AI creator community. They are continuing efforts to reduce repetitive, spammy content so more original, story-driven work can rise. The system isn’t perfect, so if you were flagged incorrectly, appeal. That feedback helps improve things over time. There’s a wave of bold, original work coming from AI creators right now, and we will continue to advocate for you.
