This disaster was an inevitable consequence of capitalism influencing the property owners to neglect maintenance and repairs until it was too late. Same thing could happen to any building owned by greedy people.

Plus, it doesn’t need to be 1 tall car park; 2 or 3 small 3-4 story car parks would save a ton of space.

I’d actually rather be in the car park, since simpler structures like that are easier to reinforce against earthquakes. At the end of the day, though, both are safe because both have VERY strict regulations
