It just occurred to me that, even though my retirement is still weeks away, I've already "quiet quit." I kind of checked out last year during DOGE. I don't think I'm the only one, either, and it's not about "not liking my job." I loved my job. Rather it's about serving my country when it's committed to doing evil. I can't be a part of any of it. I'm privileged to actually be able to act on my feelings. I was a broke single parent during GWOT and had to make the most of it, and understand that most of my colleagues are similarly stuck. However, I literally have no excuse today. I can, in theory, live more comfortably sitting on my ass at home than working. I am done.
