Over the last 3-4 years, I’ve noticed my brain can no longer commit to long-form shows or season-after-season sitcoms. It isn’t just “lack of time”. It feels like cognitive fatigue. Constant stimulation, decision fatigue, shortened attention spans & the need for quick emotional payoff have quietly reshaped how we consume content. So now I gravitate towards 30–45 minute YouTube pockets of comfort. Celebrity home tours, Farah Khan cooking with guests, Sakshi’s podcasts, the occasional murder spiral. All these don’t need too much of my brain’s investment. Is this evolution, burnout, or are we all collectively losing the ability to sit with something slow and deep?

It’s a mistake to outsource most writing to AI. Even if the output is accurate and engaging, something valuable is lost in the process. Jotting down intuitions and spelling out hunches is how we develop and refine our ideas. Writing is where we do our best thinking.

I asked a CEO of one of the biggest industrial groups in India which is on the verge of bankruptcy, why this happened? He replied, “Bosses who don’t listen will eventually be surrounded by people who have nothing to say.” —@hvgoenka

We shouldn’t ask kids what they want to be when they grow up. It encourages them to define themselves in terms of work. Who we become is not a question of career—it’s a matter of character. The highest aspiration is to be a person of generosity, integrity, humility, and wisdom.

Most successful people are people you’ve never heard of. They want it that way. It keeps them sober. It helps them do their jobs.

Happiness requires struggle. Without struggle, the world would lack meaning and our joys would feel empty. Be grateful for your struggles, because within them is the constant opportunity for purpose.

Sweat dripped into my eyes as I ran home in 100-degree heat. My legs burned. The sun blazed relentlessly. Approaching the lights, I faced a choice: go straight as usual or turn right to shave off two miles. I took the shortcut. That right turn beckoned again on the next run. I yielded. Soon, it became my default route. Recently, I’ve fought to reclaim my original path. It’s a constant battle against the easy option. This isn’t just about running. It’s about life. Small choices quietly reshape our habits. A single shortcut can dramatically alter our trajectory. The path of least resistance often leads away from our goals. Shortcuts change more than just the journey. They change us.
